How it Works

We’ll need your input at each step, but we’ll hold your hand from start to finish and guide you through the entire process.
1/ Free Website Planning Call
30 mins
Begin by sending us your details and booking a free 30-minute Website Planning Call. We’ll discuss your business, goals, and ideas, and create a Website Plan that includes a sitemap and an outline for each page. We’ll email this to you, along with a proposal should you wish to continue working with us.
2/ Getting Started
3-5 days
We’ll officially welcome you aboard the Prime Start Express Train with an email containing links to various useful resources for the project, including communication channels, shared folders, a style guide template, and a how-to guide. In the meantime, we’ll begin working on your wireframe, which we’ll review with you shortly.
3/ Detailed Website Planning Call
30 mins
We’ll have a second website planning call to discuss the project in greater detail. During this call, we’ll present your wireframe, ensure it’s on track, and provide your copywriting templates, which will be customised to align with your wireframe and website structure. We’ll also explore your design preferences further and confirm your technical setup, as well as answer any questions you might have.
4/ Design Concepts
1 day
Following the call, we’ll immediately begin working on a homepage concept for your website based on our discussion. The next day, we’ll schedule another call to present this concept and gather your feedback, allowing us to refine your design further.
5/ Finalising the Website
1 week
Over the next 5 to 7 days, we’ll develop the remaining pages and make adjustments to the design based on your feedback. We’ll also import any photos and written content you’ve provided. If there are any gaps in your content and you need additional time to work on the copy, we’ll use placeholder text to keep the project progressing (you can easily update this later on).
6/ Go Live
1 day
Once it's completed, you'll receive a link to preview the site before it goes live on your domain. In the meantime, we'll go through our standard pre-launch checklist to ensure everything is functioning perfectly. This includes checking aspects such as mobile responsiveness, links, and form submissions. After confirming with you, we'll set up the hosting, link your domain, and launch the website.
7/ Ongoing Care & Updates
Ongoing
Once your site is live, we’ll continue to look after it through our monthly website care plan. This includes hosting, maintenance, security, plugin and platform updates, support, quarterly strategy calls, and unlimited requests for small content updates. You’ll also receive your own login if you wish to make content updates yourself.

Are your Prime Start Express websites built using WordPress?
Yes, we build all our websites on the WordPress platform.
Why is Prime Start Express more affordable than other custom web design packages?
There are several reasons for this. Firstly, we avoid much of the detailed strategy work, which can be excessive for startups. Secondly, we don’t handle the content writing for you, as that is usually the most time-consuming aspect. Lastly, we maintain a professional yet straightforward approach to design and functionality, allowing us to build and customise your design quickly. This efficiency enables us to pass the cost savings on to you.
What if I need different pages than the standard Prime Start Express package?
The standard package comprises a homepage, an about page, a services page, up to three sub-pages for services, a contact page, and a blog. This package is ideal for most small service-based businesses, but it may not meet everyone’s needs. When you submit your application, please share your ideas with us, and we’ll inform you if it’s feasible and how it could affect your setup fee.
What if I need a specific integration or plugin for my site, or something a little bit fancy?
If you need something a little more complex or fancy, the Express package is probably not a fit. Check out our Custom Design & Development offer or our Full Custom Website Package.
Can I get access to make my own updates to the site after it goes live?
Yes. You’ll get your own login so that you can update the content yourself. But most clients simply ask us to make updates for them — it’s usually quicker!
What if I can’t get the content together in time?
No problem. Content creation doesn’t need to hold up the process. We’ll use filler content so there’s no empty spaces when your site goes live — you can easily replace this content (or ask us to replace it for you) once you’re ready.
What’s the difference between Prime Start Express and your custom website package?
Our signature custom website package is designed for established businesses looking to enhance their brand or improve their website's functionality. As a result, there are some key differences. The Prime Start Express package streamlines some of the more time-consuming aspects found in our other custom packages. Instead of creating your content strategy and copy for you, you will provide the copy and images before we kick off the project. Rather than spending weeks on strategy, including SEO development, we address the essential details during your Website Planning Call. Additionally, instead of building your design from scratch, we start with some pre-built structures to expedite the process, before customising them to align with your brand. Lastly, while Prime Start Express is ideal for informational sites, it offers less flexibility with plugins and elaborate custom elements that require extensive development time.
Do I have to go onto your ongoing Care Plan or can I take care of my own website hosting and updates?
Prime Start Express sites are required to stay on our care plan for a minimum of 12 months. After this period, if you choose to switch to another hosting or care provider, we can either supply the website files as they are in a zipped folder or transfer the website to your new hosting for a small fee.
