Web design for bricklayers.

Nobody can tell a good bricklayer from a bad one until the scaffold comes down, so they look for clues instead: a course that runs true, perps that line up, a repair that has disappeared into the wall around it.

Here’s how a bricklayer website could look.

Your own design is made around your business. This is the kind of homepage we build, on a computer and on a phone.

Two customers, one website

Half your enquiries come from people who can read brickwork. Half from people who cannot.

A builder looking for a subcontractor is judging courses, perps and the tidiness of a joint in a photograph, and has decided within about four seconds. They do not need persuading about what brickwork is; they need to know whether you are any good and whether you are free.

The homeowner wanting a garden wall or their front elevation repointed is judging something else entirely — whether you will turn up, whether the mess gets cleared, and whether the new work will match the old. The same photographs have to answer both, which is why they have to be good ones.

How customers find a bricklayer and get in touch.

Most people start on a phone, with a search. Your website is what they see next.

  1. 01

    They search

Someone looks for a bricklayer near them and opens the results.

  2. 02

    They see your website

Your services, your area and a clear way to get in touch, easy to use on a phone.

  3. 03

They call or send an enquiry

It reaches you straight away, so you can reply while they are still looking.

Good to know

More for bricklayers, before you start.

Two customers, two ways of buying. One clear list.

A homeowner wants a wall, a repair, or their pointing sorted before winter. Your website speaks to both without muddling them, and lists only the work you actually take on.

  • Garden and boundary wallsNew walls, piers, copings and gate piers
  • RepointingLime or cement, mixed and coloured to match
  • Brick repairsSpalled faces, cracked courses, failed lintels
  • Chimney repairs and rebuildsRepointed, rebuilt, or taken down and made good
  • Extension brickworkFootings up, toothed into the existing house
  • New-build and blockworkCavity walls and internal blockwork, per job or per thousand

A wall that needs building, or a joint that needs doing.

Brickwork is quoted from what the wall looks like, so the enquiry asks for the details you would check on a visit.

  • The jobA new wall, repointing, a repair or extension brickwork, and roughly how big.
  • What it looks like nowA description of the existing brick or mortar, so you know what to match.
  • Where and whenThe postcode, and whether it is for a homeowner, a landlord or a builder with a job on.

Your website, planned

Planned around how bricklayers are chosen.

Every part of your website has a job. Here is how a website for your trade is usually laid out; yours follows your own services and customers.

  1. 01

    Home

Your best wall in the first screen, what you do for homeowners and for builders, the towns you cover, and one obvious way to get a price.

    • Best work first
    • Towns covered
    • Get a price
  2. 02

    Brickwork and repairs

Every job you take on, in the words customers use, with the bond, mortar and finish detail underneath for the ones who want it.

    • Garden walls
    • Extensions
    • Brick repairs
  3. 03

    Repointing

The job hardest to judge from a description, given a page of its own: what it involves, how a mortar gets matched, and pairs of photographs.

    • Before and after
    • Lime and cement
    • Colour matching
  4. 04

    Our work and areas

Finished jobs labelled by town and job type, then the towns you cover so the right enquiries reach you.

    • By job type
    • By town
  5. 05

    About and contact

Who you are, what you hold, and a short enquiry form headed with what to tell you: the wall, the town and what it needs. It lands in your inbox, and a photograph can follow by email once you reply, so you see the wall before you drive out to it.

Questions

What bricklayers ask us.

Short answers. Nothing hidden. Anything else, our team is happy to help.

All questions
Can the website show before-and-after photographs of repointing?

Yes, and it should. Repointing is the job a homeowner finds hardest to judge from a description, so both the work page and the home page are built for pairs. Take the two photographs from the same spot in similar light, send them through your Client Platform, and we put each pair up for you as a small change under fair use.

I work for builders as well as homeowners. Can one website do both?

Yes, and it is usually the right answer. A homeowner sees garden walls, repointing and repairs, explained the way a homeowner buys. A site manager sees extension brickwork, blockwork and how you take on labour-only work. Neither has to read the other's page. If you only want one kind of customer, the other never appears on the site.

Can I show my NVQ, CSCS card and insurance?

If you hold them, yes. Your qualifications, your CSCS card, public liability insurance and any trade body membership such as the Guild of Bricklayers sit on the about page and beside the enquiry form, where they do the most good. We only ever show what you actually hold.
