Web design for window and door companies
A render never sold a front door. Your last install will.
Replacement windows and a new front door are bought slowly and compared carefully. Three companies get looked up in one evening, and all three are judged on the same two things: whether the work looks right on a house like this one, and whether the visit will turn into a sales pitch. PrimeStart builds websites for window and door companies around your own installations, the product choices, your registration where people look and a survey request that reaches your inbox. Then we host it, manage it and keep it current.
- Per month: £49.99
- Upfront website design fee: £0
Illustration: a window & door companies pictogram beside an example website built for that trade.
The house down the road sells more windows than any brochure.
A manufacturer's brochure shows a window floating on white. Your customer wants to see one on a 1930s semi with a bay, on a Victorian terrace, on a new-build with grey frames, in the colour they have been arguing about for a fortnight. Your own installations do that; a supplier's stock library never will.

Photographs here are illustrative. Your gallery carries your own installations, ideally with the street in shot and a before beside the after.
Four jobs, four completely different conversations.
Nobody arrives thinking about glazing. They arrive thinking about one job, already fairly well formed in their head. The home page asks which, and each route is written for that decision, with the choices set out the way a surveyor sets them out at the kitchen table rather than the way a price list does.
Draughts, misted units and yellowed frames
The trigger is usually one cold room or one unit gone milky. What they need to work out is the material, the style, the rating and whether it will still look like the house they bought.
- uPVC, aluminium or timber
- Casement, flush, sash, tilt-and-turn
- Window energy ratings stated
- Colours and woodgrain foils
A front door, chosen on colour first
Composite doors are picked the way a kitchen is: colour, glass, handle, letterplate. Security and the fitting day matter too, but only once they can picture it on their own porch.
- Composite and uPVC
- Colour, glazing and door furniture
- Security standards where you fit them
- In and out in a day
Opening up the back of the house
This one usually rides on a builder's programme. The decisions are panel counts, which way they stack, thresholds, sightlines and how it all meets the new floor.
- Aluminium bifolds
- Sliding patio doors
- French doors
- Thresholds and sightlines explained
Adding a room, or putting one right
An orangery, or a warm roof on the conservatory that has been unusable since June. And the small work: misted units, dropped hinges, handles and locks that never quite shut.
- Conservatories and orangeries
- Warm roof replacements
- Misted units
- Hinges, handles and locks
If you don't fit it, the route never appears. If one product line carries your margin, the site leads with it.
Three quotes, one evening, and one unspoken worry.
Hardly anybody buys windows from the first company they ring. They collect three prices, and they collect them in a familiar order: the firm a neighbour mentioned, the firm whose work they have walked past, and whoever turns up when they search. Your website decides which of the three you are, and how much of you they already trust when the surveyor knocks.
The worry underneath it is not the price. It is the two-hour visit, the discount that expires at nine o'clock and the pen sliding across the table. A site that says who comes, how long the measure-up takes, when the written price arrives and that nothing needs signing on the night takes that fear away before anyone picks up the phone.
Where you fit counts as much as what you fit. Every survey, delivery and return visit costs a van and a morning, so the pages name the towns you genuinely cover.

Registered, warranted, and easy to check.
Replacement windows and external doors are notifiable building work in England and Wales, and homeowners have learnt to ask who certificates it. Your registration, your warranty and the ratings on what you fit belong in the first screen and beside the survey form, not on a page nobody opens.
We show what you have told us you hold, and nothing else: no borrowed logos, no invented review counts, no trading history you have not given us. Everything on the page can be checked against the register it came from.
What we'll show if you hold it
- FENSA or CERTASS registration, and the certificate your customer receives
- An insurance-backed warranty, stated in years and in writing
- Glass and Glazing Federation membership
- Window energy ratings for the products you fit
- PAS 24 or Secured by Design doors, where you offer them
- Approved installer status for a profile system or door brand
- Public liability insurance, and reviews you have genuinely been given
Scheme names are illustrative. You confirm what you hold during onboarding and we display exactly that.
The measure-up, the price, the fitting day.
This is where a window and door website earns its keep. The form books a measure-up rather than an evening, and the page beside it sets out what happens next, in order. Do that well and you are the first of their three appointments, not the last.
- 1The enquiry arrives half-surveyed
What they are replacing, the property, photographs and a time that suits them, in one message. You know before you ring whether it is a full house, a single door or a misted unit.
- 2The visit, described in advance
Who comes, how long they need, what gets measured and when the written price lands. If you don't do pressure selling, the page says so in your own words, and that one paragraph wins more surveys than any offer.
- 3The wait, explained honestly
Made-to-order frames take weeks, and the silence in between is where confidence leaks away. The site sets out your lead times, your deposit terms and who rings to book the fitting day.
- 4Fitting day, and the week after
How many days, where the skip goes, making good around the reveals, the certificate and the paperwork. Saying it now saves the "where are my windows?" call in week three.
Repairs get a shorter form of their own. A photo of the misted unit, a postcode and a number is usually all you need to price it.
Five pages, in the order a window job is bought.
Product first, because that is what brought them. Proof underneath it, the survey request on every page, and nothing padded out to look bigger than it is.

You'll know where the website is without ringing anyone.
Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. Follow the build stage by stage, send photographs of the install you finished on Friday, ask for a change and approve the site before anything goes live.
- Follow the build stage by stage, from onboarding to launch

The logic of SEO
Windows get searched for. They don't get stumbled upon.
A homeowner who has decided this is the year does not browse. They type what they want, with the town they live in after it, and ring two or three of what comes back. SEO is PrimeStart working every month on how easily those people find you.
The kind of searches SEO works on
- double glazing Colchester
- composite front doors Colchester
- bifold doors Colchester
£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.
Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.
- 1
A better website earns the first survey
Homeowners judge a window company on its website long before they judge a mitre. Real installs, clear product routes and a visible warranty get you the first appointment in the diary rather than the third.
- 2
Better visibility across the towns you fit in
SEO works every month on the searches that matter where you work, on your Google Business Profile and on the listings that carry your address and hours.
- 3
More of the enquiries worth measuring
Being found by somebody already searching for bifolds or a composite door brings the work you want, rather than a call about a stiff handle twenty miles the wrong way.
- 4
A site built to turn them into surveys
Clear products, the towns you cover, your registration in view and a survey request that asks the right questions, so what lands in your inbox is worth a morning.

Get the installs online. Grow when the diary needs filling.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.
Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.
