Web design for beauty salons

The treatment menu is the website.

A beauty salon sells forty different things at forty different prices with forty different durations, and the client deciding between you and the salon down the road is trying to work out whether you do the specific treatment she wants, what it costs and how long she needs to book off. Most salon websites bury all three in a PDF. We put the menu at the centre, then host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

The menu

Forty treatments, grouped so nobody has to hunt.

The mistake almost every salon site makes is one enormous alphabetical list. Grouped by what a client came for — face, lashes and brows, body, hands and feet — with the time beside the price, it becomes something people read instead of something they scroll past.

  • Time beside price, always

"Do I need an hour or two?" is the question that decides whether she can book this week. It matters as much as the number.

  • Say what needs a patch test

Tinting and lash extensions need an allergy alert test in advance. Saying so on the menu prevents the appointment that has to be turned away at the door.

  • Be clear about removal and infills

Whether removal is included, and what happens if the gel is somebody else's, is the most common argument in the trade. One line each settles it.

Prices shown are the example salon's illustrative rates. Yours are your own, and we change them whenever you want.

Booking

She is deciding on a Sunday evening for a Thursday lunchtime.

Beauty bookings are planned, not urgent, and they happen well outside your opening hours. A request form lets somebody pick a treatment and a time while she is thinking about it, and you confirm on Monday morning.

  • Group the treatments in the form too

A dropdown with forty entries is a wall. The same four groups you used on the menu make choosing take three seconds.

  • Handle the patch test automatically

If the treatment needs one, the form says so and offers to book it. That single behaviour prevents most of the wasted appointments in this trade.

  • Ask if it is a first visit

It changes the time you allow and lets you plan a consultation. It also tells you which enquiries are new clients worth following up.

Reassurance

Treatments happen close to the face and in a private room.

A first-time client is trusting you with her skin, her eyes and an hour alone in a room with somebody she has never met. Qualifications, insurance and hygiene are not boring detail here. They are why she books you rather than somebody working from a kitchen table.

We describe your salon exactly as you run it. Nothing invented, no fabricated reviews, no qualifications you do not hold.

Things we'll display if they apply to you

  • The qualifications your therapists hold, and in what
  • Treatment insurance, and your public liability cover
  • Local authority registration or licensing where your treatments require it
  • Brands you are trained and certified in
  • Hygiene practices: single-use where applicable, and how tools are handled
  • Patch testing policy, and which treatments require one
  • Your deposit and cancellation policy, and aftercare provided
  • Reviews wherever they already live: Google, Fresha, Facebook

Registration requirements for treatments such as skin piercing or certain advanced procedures vary by local authority. You tell us what you hold and are registered for, and that is exactly what appears. We do not make claims about clinical results.

Where clients come from

The regulars pay the rent. The website finds the replacements.

A beauty salon's income is a column of loyal clients on a four to six week cycle, and it looks stable right up until three of them move house in the same quarter. New clients almost always arrive through a local search or a recommendation they then look up, and the salons that struggle are the ones with no way in for somebody who does not already know them.

That is also why the tone of the site matters as much as the menu. Clients choose a salon on whether it feels like their sort of place: unhurried and quiet, or busy and social. Writing honestly about what your room is actually like brings you the clients who will be happy there, which is a great deal more useful than bringing everybody.

The logic of SEO

A lash client every three weeks is worth eight hundred pounds a year.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. In beauty the repeat cycle is short and reliable, so the value of finding one new regular is far higher than the price of one treatment suggests.

The kind of searches SEO works on

  1. beauty salon Harrogate
  2. lash extensions Harrogate
  3. facial Harrogate

£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

  1. 1

A website that shows your own work

Close-up photographs of lashes and brows you have actually done, next to a salon using stock images. It is not a close contest, and it never has been.

  2. 2

Found by the people already looking

SEO is monthly work on the local searches, your Google Business Profile and the listings that decide who appears when somebody near you types beauty salon near me.

  3. 3

    The treatment decides the client

Visibility for lash extensions brings clients on a three-week infill cycle. Visibility for waxing brings a different rhythm entirely. Choosing the searches shapes the diary.

  4. 4

A site that gets her booked

Menu, price, duration, request. Everything else on the page exists to get somebody comfortable enough to choose a time.

We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts.

Your Client Platform

Add a treatment the week you start offering it.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives: the stage it has reached, what we are waiting on, the draft to look through, and the button that says you are happy with it.

  • Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
  • Send photographs of your work straight from your phone
  • Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
  • Preview the draft on a laptop and a phone, and mark up changes
  • Approve the website before anything goes live
  • Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
  • See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)

There is nothing technical to learn. One login to your Client Platform, and you never have to open WordPress.

The plans

The same beauty salon website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A beauty salon website built around a menu that can actually be read, with times, patch tests and your own work.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed local searches, chosen for the treatments you want more of. How SEO works

How it works

Your part takes less time than a full set.

Choose a plan, send us your treatment menu and your photographs, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Send us the menu

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: your treatments, prices and durations, which need patch tests, your qualifications and insurance, your photographs, and where bookings should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a treatment or a policy needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone first: the grouped menu, the gallery, and the request form.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions salon owners ask us

How much does a website for a beauty salon cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
I have forty treatments. Will they fit in five pages?
Comfortably, because they group. Face, lashes and brows, body, and hands and feet gives you four pages plus a home page, with the full menu on one of them. That structure also matches how clients search, so it works better than one page per treatment would.
I use a booking system already. Does this replace it?
No. PrimeStart sites do not include a booking engine, so we link straight to whatever you use and your diary stays where it is. If you do not have one, the request form captures the treatment, the date and whether a patch test is needed, and you confirm it.
Can the site handle patch test bookings?
It flags them, which is the important part. When somebody requests a treatment that needs an allergy alert test, the form says so and asks whether they have had one with you before, so you can book the test in first rather than turning them away on the day.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. It suits beauty because a regular client on a short cycle is worth a great deal over a year. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of bookings, and we do not.
