Web design for dog groomers

Nobody knows what a groom costs for their own dog.

"How much for a cockapoo?" is the message you get forty times a week, and the honest answer is that it depends on the coat, the size and how long it has been. A price list by breed and coat type answers it before anybody asks, filters out the people who wanted twenty pounds, and leaves you doing the work instead of the messaging. We build it that way, host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Prices

By size and coat, with what makes it more.

Grooming prices vary more than almost any service, and owners have no reference point at all. A list organised by size and coat type, with the things that add to it stated plainly, answers the only question in the enquiry and protects you at the table.

  • Say what makes it more

Matting, size, behaviour and how long it has been. Four honest variables beside the price mean nobody feels ambushed when they collect.

  • Be clear about matting

That a severely matted coat may have to be clipped short, and that this is a welfare decision rather than a shortcut. Saying it in advance prevents the worst conversation in the trade.

  • Say how often to come

Six to eight weeks for most coats. It sets the expectation of a regular appointment, which is the customer you actually want.

Prices shown are the example salon's illustrative rates. Yours are your own, and we change them whenever you want.

Booking

You are holding a dog. You cannot answer the phone.

That is the practical reality of this job, and it is why so many enquiries go to whoever replied first. A request form that captures the breed, the coat and a photograph means you can answer four of them in one gap between dogs.

  • Ask for a photograph

One picture tells you the coat, the condition and roughly the time needed. It is the single most useful field on a groomer's form.

  • Ask when they were last groomed

"Never" and "six weeks ago" are completely different appointments. Knowing in advance protects your diary and the dog.

  • Ask about behaviour honestly

Nervous, snappy, hates the dryer, cannot be left. Owners will tell you if the form makes it easy, and it is far better known before the dog arrives.

The proof

The scruffy one and the finished one, same dog.

There is no more persuasive image in this trade and it costs nothing to take. Owners are not judging your scissoring technique; they are judging whether their dog will come home looking like that one.

Reassurance

They are leaving a family member with a stranger for three hours.

That is genuinely how it feels, particularly for a first-time owner or a nervous dog. How you handle the dog matters more than how you cut the coat, and almost no grooming website talks about it.

We describe your salon exactly as it runs. Nothing invented, no fabricated reviews, and no qualifications you do not hold.

Things we'll display if they apply to you

  • Your grooming qualifications and any ongoing training
  • Whether you work one dog at a time, and whether cages are used
  • Canine first aid training
  • Public liability and care, custody and control insurance
  • How nervous or elderly dogs are handled, and when you would stop
  • Whether owners can stay, and whether you send photos during the groom
  • Your policy on matted coats and welfare decisions
  • Reviews from owners who have agreed to them

Dog grooming is not a statutorily regulated profession in the UK, so qualifications and insurance carry more weight rather than less. You tell us what you hold and we display exactly that, with no implied accreditation.

Where customers come from

A groom is a standing appointment, not a purchase.

A dog needs grooming every six to eight weeks for its whole life, which makes this one of the most reliably repeating services any local business can offer. One customer found this year is fifty or sixty appointments over a decade, plus the second dog they get in three years' time, plus the neighbours who ask where the cockapoo got done.

That makes local visibility unusually valuable and unusually cheap to act on. The searches are small and specific — a breed, a service, a town — and the competition is mostly Facebook pages with no prices on them. Naming the villages you cover, and being clear about parking and drop-off, decides between you and the salon ten minutes further away.

Your site plan

Four pages, and the price list is the reason they came.

Grooming needs a small, fast website that answers price, availability and how the dog will be treated. Everything else is the gallery.

The logic of SEO

Most of your competitors have no prices anywhere.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. This is a trade where a proper website is still unusual, which makes the local searches genuinely winnable.

The kind of searches SEO works on

  1. dog groomer Warwick
  2. dog grooming Warwick
  3. puppy groom Warwick

£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

  1. 1

A website that answers the price

Three groomers compared on a phone, two of them a Facebook page saying "message for prices". The one with a list by coat type gets the enquiry, every time.

  2. 2

Found by the people already looking

SEO is monthly work on the local searches, your Google Business Profile and the listings that decide who appears when somebody near you types dog groomer near me.

  3. 3

    Breed searches convert best

"Cockapoo groomer" is searched by somebody with a specific dog and a specific worry about the coat. Naming the breeds you groom regularly catches those enquiries.

  4. 4

One customer is a decade of appointments

Every six to eight weeks, for the life of the dog. Almost nothing else in local business repeats that reliably, which makes each new client worth a great deal.

We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts.

Your Client Platform

Add today's before-and-afters between dogs.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives: the stage it has reached, what we are waiting on, the draft to look through, and the button that says you are happy with it.

  • Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
  • Send before-and-after pairs straight from your phone
  • Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
  • Preview the draft on a laptop and a phone, and mark up changes
  • Approve the website before anything goes live
  • Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
  • See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)

There is nothing technical to learn. One login to your Client Platform, and you never have to open WordPress.

The plans

The same grooming website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A dog groomer's website with prices by coat, real before-and-afters and a booking form that takes a photograph.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

How it works

Your part takes less time than one full groom.

Choose a plan, send us your prices and your best pairs, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Send us your prices

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: your price list by size and coat, your policies, your qualifications and insurance, your photographs, and where bookings should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a price or a policy needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone first: the prices, the pairs, and the booking form.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions groomers ask us

How much does a website for a dog groomer cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Everything I do is on Facebook. Why add a website?
Because a Facebook page does not appear when somebody searches for a groomer in your town, does not show a price list properly, and buries your photographs under posts. The site does those things and your page keeps doing what it is good at. We can pull your gallery in so you are not maintaining two things.
Should I publish prices when every dog is different?
From prices by size and coat, absolutely. It is the question in almost every message you receive, and the variability is handled by naming what changes it: matting, condition and behaviour. You will get fewer enquiries and considerably better ones.
Can people book online?
They can request a slot; PrimeStart sites do not include a live diary. In grooming that is usually better anyway, because you want to see a photograph and know the coat before you commit to a time. If you use a booking app already, we link straight to it.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. It suits grooming because one customer returns every six to eight weeks for years. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of bookings, and we do not.
