Web design for event venues

Will it hold 120, and is the 12th of September free?

Every enquiry a venue receives is really those two questions wearing a longer sentence. Answer them on the page and the emails that arrive are from people who already fit, on dates you can actually take. Leave them to a phone call and you spend your week explaining that the barn seats 110, not 160. We build the version that does the explaining, host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Checking a date

The first thing they want is a yes or a no about one day.

Availability is the whole conversation. A venue site that makes somebody fill in a general contact form, wait two days and then be told the date has gone has wasted everybody's time, and lost the couple to whoever answered first.

  • Put the date field first

It is the only field that can end the conversation, so it should not be the fifth thing somebody fills in. Everything else is detail around it.

  • Ask whether they are flexible

A single question that turns a lost enquiry into a Friday booking. Most couples will move a week for the venue they actually want.

  • Show the seasons that are open

If November and February are quiet, say so with a reason to come then. It is the cheapest thing a venue can do to fill the difficult months.

PrimeStart sites do not include a booking engine or a live availability calendar fed by your diary. Where you already use a venue management system we link into it; otherwise the enquiry arrives as an email you can answer from anywhere.

Capacities and what is included

Numbers, plainly, before anybody has to ask for them.

Venue websites are famously vague, and it costs them. Every figure you withhold becomes an email you have to answer, and every enquiry you answer from somebody who was never going to fit is an hour you do not get back.

  1. 01

Seated, standing, and for a ceremony

Three different numbers for the same room, and people routinely confuse them. Publish all three and the mismatched enquiries stop arriving.

  2. 02

What is actually included in the hire

Tables, chairs, the room, the garden, staff, cleaning, parking. And, just as importantly, what is not: catering, bar, hire, licences.

  3. 03

    Exclusive use, and the hours

Whether you have the site to yourselves, when access starts, and when music has to stop. Curfews are the detail most often discovered too late.

  4. 04

Ceremony licence and where it can happen

If you are licensed, name the rooms and the outdoor spaces. If you are not, say so and explain where couples usually marry instead.

  5. 05

    Suppliers: list, preferred, or open

Whether people can bring their own caterer, and who is on your list. It changes the budget and it is one of the first things a planner checks.

  6. 06

    Accommodation, parking and access

How many can stay, where everybody parks, and whether the site is manageable for guests who cannot walk far across a field.

None of it is a hard sell. It is the information a venue gives out fifty times a month, written down once, in the place people look first.

How venues get shortlisted

You are on a list of six before anybody contacts you.

Almost nobody enquires with one venue. A couple opens a dozen tabs on a Sunday evening, closes eight of them within a minute, and keeps the ones that answered the obvious questions without making them work. The closing happens on capacity, on price signals, and on whether the photographs look like the day they have in their heads.

That means the website is not competing on charm. It is competing on how quickly somebody can find out whether you fit. A venue that publishes seated numbers, a starting point for hire, what is included and a clear picture of the room dressed will survive that first cull far more often than a prettier site that hides all four behind an enquiry form.

Once you are on the shortlist, the job changes: now it is about the visit. Make it easy to book one, say what a visit involves and how long it takes, and be honest about the days you show people round. Venues are chosen in person and lost online.

Your site plan

Five pages, and one of them is just numbers.

The structure follows the way people actually shortlist: see the room, check it fits, work out what it costs, decide whether to visit, then ask about a date.

The room dressed, the headline capacity, what kind of events you take, and one obvious way to check a date.

Need something extra later? No problem. PrimeStart customers can order additional services such as extra pages, branding and one-off optimisation through their client dashboard whenever they need them.

Website + SEO

Why a venue with a full 2027 still bothers.

SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. Venues book a long way ahead, which changes what the work is for: it is not this month's diary, it is the two years after it.

The kind of searches SEO works on

  1. wedding venue Cirencester
  2. barn wedding venue Cirencester
  3. party venue hire Cirencester

£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

  1. 1

A site that matches the building

If the venue is beautiful and the website is not, people assume the venue is dated too. The photographs and the typography are doing more work here than on almost any other kind of site.

  2. 2

Found while people are still browsing

"Barn wedding venue" and "wedding venue near me" are searched by people eighteen months out with nothing booked. That is precisely the moment a venue wants to be on the list.

  3. 3

The right enquiries, not more of them

Being visible is only useful if the enquiries fit. Publishing capacities and a starting point means the ones that arrive are already the right size and the right budget.

  4. 4

A page built to get them through the door

Everything points at booking a visit, because that is where venues are actually chosen. The site's job is to earn an afternoon, not a signature.

Venue searches are seasonal and they run far ahead of the event. The SEO work tracks what happens across a year rather than a month, which is the only sensible way to read it for this kind of business.

Your Client Platform

Update next year's hire prices without ringing anyone.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives while it is being built, and where you ask for changes once it is live.

  • Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
  • Send new photographs from a wedding straight after the weekend
  • Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
  • Preview the draft before anybody else sees it
  • Approve the website before it goes live
  • Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
  • See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)

Prices change once a year and photographs change every weekend. Both are a message, not a project.

The plans

The same venue website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A venue website that answers capacity, inclusions and availability up front, and turns browsing into a booked visit.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed searches aimed at people planning a year or more ahead. How SEO works

How it works

Your part happens on a quiet weekday.

Choose a plan, send us your capacities, inclusions and photographs, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Send us the venue

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: capacities, hire inclusions and exclusions, access and curfew, licence details, supplier rules, accommodation, photographs, and where enquiries should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a number or a policy needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft with the photographs, the capacities and the date enquiry in place, so you can walk the whole journey.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions venues ask us

How much does a website for an event venue cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Can the site show live availability from our diary?
Not from your diary directly. PrimeStart sites do not include a booking engine, and we would not connect one to a venue calendar without a system designed for it. What works well is a date enquiry form with the date at the top, plus a simple published note of which months are open. If you already use venue management software, we link straight into it.
Should we publish our hire prices?
A starting point, yes, even if it is a range or a "from" figure for a midweek date. It is the second thing after availability that decides whether somebody enquires, and hiding it mostly produces enquiries from people who cannot afford you. What you publish is entirely your decision and we will build it either way.
We get most of our enquiries through wedding directories. Is a website still worth it?
Directories send people to your own site to make up their minds, so the site is where the decision actually happens. It is also the only place you control: the photographs, the capacities, the tone and the enquiry form are yours rather than a listing template shared with every competitor on the page.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. Venue searches run a long way ahead of the event, so the work is read over a year rather than a month. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of bookings, and we do not.
