Websites for furniture restorers and upholsterers

One family has a grandmother's chair that means everything. One designer needs the same finish repeated across a set of eight.

PrimeStart designs a website around your furniture restoration and upholstery business, then hosts it, updates it and looks after it for you. Built to show a real portfolio to a family trusting a sentimental piece and a designer specifying a commercial run alike — from £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee.

Why a website

This is a craft bought on the portfolio, not a price list.

Nobody hands over a sentimental piece, or specifies a run of chairs, without seeing proof of the finished standard first. Real before-and-after work does more persuading than any description ever could.

01

A family wants an honest answer, not a sales pitch

A genuine assessment of what can and cannot be saved, so they know where they stand before committing a sentimental piece.

02

A designer is checking consistency, not browsing

Whether a workshop can repeat the same fabric and finish reliably across a whole set tells a designer in seconds whether to send the order.

03

The portfolio does the persuading, before anything else is asked

Real before-and-after photographs of similar pieces, shown plainly, tell a customer more than any words about the craft could.

04

They want to describe their piece, not fill in a generic form

A quote request that asks for the piece, its condition and photos gets an honest assessment started without a wasted visit.

Getting customers

Somebody looking at a tired armchair is searching right now.

“Furniture restorer near me”, “reupholster a sofa cost”, “can this chair be saved” — different searches, different pieces. SEO is the ongoing work of being found for each one.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, “furniture restorer Bath”, “reupholstery Somerset” and “antique chair restoration” — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so you appear on the map with your services, your areas and a way to reach you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review after a piece is finished, because reviews are what someone checks before trusting a sentimental piece to a workshop.
  • Content that answers real questions. What a condition assessment actually checks, and how fabric and finish choices work — the things people search for before they are ready to enquire.
  • A monthly report you can read. What we did, what moved, and what's next — in your Client Platform, in clear, straightforward language.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

A portfolio and an honest assessment need to sit on the same page as a real quote route.

A family trusting a sentimental piece and a designer specifying a commercial run are both making a trust decision built on the portfolio, and both deserve an honest assessment process rather than a promise that any piece can be saved. A template can't tell the difference, and it certainly can't show your work properly. We can.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. It's built around real before-and-after photography, an honest assessment process, and fabric and finish choices presented properly rather than described in passing.

“A family wants an honest answer about their grandmother's chair. A designer wants the same finish repeated eight times. Neither wants a promise the workshop can't actually keep.”

  • 1

Shown before and after, not a brochure render

Restored and reupholstered pieces photographed at both stages, so a customer can judge the standard of work before trusting their own piece to it.

  • 2

    Honest, before anything is promised

What a condition assessment actually checks, and a genuine sense of what can and cannot be saved, rather than a promise made to win the job.

  • 3

Swatches and finishes, not a description

Real fabric and finish choices presented clearly, so a decision can be made with genuine confidence.

  • 4

A form built for a commercial run

Piece count and fabric or finish, so a designer's order is quoted consistently, not as a single domestic restoration.

Request a call
Most of our work comes through word of mouth and other trades recommending us. Do we need a website?
Word of mouth keeps the workshop busy until a recommender's own work goes quiet. A website is what a family checks before trusting a sentimental piece to someone they've never met — and it works during the weeks a regular source of referrals goes quiet.
How much does a website for a furniture restoration or upholstery business cost with PrimeStart?
The managed website is £99.99 a month for up to 7 pages, with a 12-month initial term, or £1,019.90 paid upfront for the year (a 15% saving). SEO is optional: +£99.99 a month for Essential or +£249.99 a month for Growth, and prepaying the website and SEO together for the first year saves 25%. After the first 12 months the managed website continues at £49.99 a month, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Can the site show a portfolio rather than just take an enquiry?
Yes. A gallery of real before-and-after work sits alongside a quote request that asks for the piece, its condition and photos, so a customer can judge your standard of work before they even call.
Will the website promise that any piece can be restored?
No. The site sets out an honest assessment process instead, so a customer understands what genuinely can and cannot be saved before committing, rather than being promised a result that isn't realistic for their piece.
Can we show fabric or finish choices on the site?
Yes. Fabric swatches and finish samples can be presented clearly, so a customer can make a real decision rather than guessing from a description.
Can we show our BAFRA or guild membership?
Yes, if you hold it. British Antique Furniture Restorers' Association membership, any guild accreditation and your insurance are set out together, worded exactly as they appear on your certificate.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
Can the site handle a trade order for several pieces, not just one restoration?
Yes, as a separate trade enquiry route that asks for the number of pieces and fabric or finish, rather than treating a commercial run the same as a single domestic restoration.
