Web design for roofers

Found in the storm. Chosen for the re-roof.

A roofer's website has two jobs, and they could not be less alike. One customer is on the landing at six in the morning with a bucket under the ceiling and no patience for a slow site. The other has three prices on the kitchen table and a fortnight to decide. We build the site that answers both, then host it, update it and look after it for you.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Illustration: a roofers pictogram beside an example website built for that trade.

Two kinds of roofing work

The six o'clock call and the six-week decision.

Roofing arrives in two moods and the same website has to serve both. One person wants a number and wants it now. The other wants to understand the job before anyone puts a ladder against the wall. Build for one and you quietly lose the other.

6:15am
Water coming through the ceiling

Last night's wind lifted a ridge tile and the rain found the gap. They are searching from the landing with a phone in one hand and a torch in the other, and they will ring the first roofer who looks local, insured and awake.

  • Your number tapped from the first screen, before a photograph has loaded
  • The towns you will genuinely turn out to, said in the first line
  • An honest note on response: same day where you can, next morning where you cannot
  • Insurance and the schemes you belong to visible without scrolling
Sunday, 11am
Pricing up a full re-roof

The felt has perished, tiles slip every winter and the loft smells damp. They will compare three roofers over a coffee: finished roofs, what the price covers, who supplies the scaffold, how long the workmanship warranty runs. The one who explains it best gets the visit.

  • Finished roofs photographed from the ground and from the scaffold
  • What a re-roof includes: strip, membrane, battens, tiles, ridge, verge and leadwork
  • Scaffold, waste and making good, so nobody is surprised by the figure
  • A survey request that sends a photograph of the roof straight to you

If you do not turn out at night, the site says so and leads with planned work instead. If you do, nobody misses it. A response time you cannot keep in a gale only brings angry calls.

Finished work

Nobody can climb up and inspect your roofs. So they judge the photographs.

A re-roof is a five-figure decision made from the pavement. Each job on your site gets photographs, the town it was in and a few honest lines about what was done, which is the part people read twice before they call.

Slipped slates replaced and the battens checked before the panels went on, so the covering was not the weak point under new fixings.

Illustrative projects. Your site carries your own roofs, your own towns and your own photographs, added from your phone whenever a job finishes.

Where you work

You will drive an hour for a re-roof. Not for one slipped tile.

Emergency work only pays close to home. A full roof is worth the miles. Your site says which towns get which, so nobody rings about a leak forty minutes away and nobody assumes you would not travel for the big job.

  • Named towns, not a radius

People search for a roofer in the town they live in, not within twenty miles of somewhere else. Naming those towns is how the page gets found, and how a customer knows before they ring.

  • Two rings for two kinds of job

Call-outs where you can genuinely get there in the weather. Re-roofs, flat roofs and roofline across the wider patch.

  • Changed whenever the work changes

A new estate, a town you would rather drop, a second yard: tell us and it is updated for you under fair use.

Illustrative coverage. You tell us the towns you actually work in and how far you will travel for planned work.

Credentials

The difference between you and the van that knocked last week.

Roofing carries the doorstep trade's reputation, and homeowners have read the warnings. Membership, registration, insurance and a written warranty settle that in seconds, so we put them where people look: the first screen, the about page and beside the survey request.

We never add a badge, a review or a warranty you have not given us. The credentials are yours; our job is making sure nobody misses them.

What we will display, if you hold it

  • NFRC membership
  • CompetentRoofer registration, so you can self-certify roofing work under Building Regulations
  • TrustMark registration
  • Public liability and employer's liability insurance
  • Insurance-backed warranties on new roofs and flat roof systems
  • Approved-installer status for the tile, slate or flat-roof systems you fit
  • Reviews you have collected, shown as they were written

Scheme names are shown for illustration. You tell us what you actually hold during onboarding, and that is what appears on the site.

The site plan

Five pages, planned for a phone held on a landing.

The emergency customer needs two things immediately. The planned customer needs everything else, in the order they think about it. Here is how a roofer's pages usually fall.

01

Home

Tap-to-call and your towns in the first screen, a storm-damage strip if you offer one, then three finished roofs and the schemes you belong to.

  • Tap to call
  • Areas covered
  • Storm damage

Generally up to five pages on Website, planned around how your customers choose.

Need something extra later? No problem. PrimeStart customers can order additional services such as extra pages, branding and one-off optimisation through their client dashboard whenever they need them.

The logic of SEO

A gale on Tuesday night. Two hundred searches on Wednesday morning.

Roofing demand does not arrive evenly. It spikes with the weather and then goes quiet, and the businesses picking up those mornings are the ones already visible. Visibility is steady monthly work, not something you can switch on when the forecast turns.

The kind of searches SEO works on

  1. roof repairs Stockport
  2. roofer Stockport
  3. flat roof replacement Stockport

£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

  1. 1

A site that looks like a proper roofing firm

Customers judge the roofer long before they judge a roof. Finished work, real towns and credentials that are easy to check earn the first call.

  2. 2

    Found when the weather turns

The SEO work is monthly work on how easily local customers find that site: the searches that matter, your Google Business Profile and the listings carrying your details.

  3. 3

In front of the jobs you want more of

Being visible to people already searching near you puts your name in front of the work you would rather have, whether that is full re-roofs or day-to-day repairs.

  4. 4

A page that turns a look into a call

Every page ends in one obvious step: ring the number, or send a photograph of the roof. Attention is only worth having if the site knows what to do with it.

Your Client Platform

Everything about your website in one place, checked from the van.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. Follow the build stage by stage, send photographs of finished roofs from your phone, ask for a change and approve the site before anything goes live. There is nothing technical to learn and no email thread to chase.

  • Follow the build stage by stage
  • Send job photographs, details and files straight from your phone
  • Message PrimeStart without chasing anyone
  • Preview the draft on desktop and phone, and ask for changes
  • Approve the website before it goes live
  • Ask for changes afterwards, whenever the work you offer changes
  • See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)

The plans

The same roofing website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

Start with the Website and everything that keeps it working. Move to Website + SEO when you want PrimeStart working every month on how local customers find you. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A professional roofing website, designed around repairs and re-roofs, built, hosted and looked after for you.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on how people in your towns find it when a roof starts letting water in. How SEO works

How it works

You are up a ladder all day. Your part takes an evening.

Choose a plan, tell us about the business, look at the draft. We write the pages, build the site and handle every technical thing behind it.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Pick Website or Website + SEO. Your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Tell us about the business

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: services, areas, anything you want highlighted, your logo, any photos and the number you want calls to go to.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If something's missing we'll say exactly what, and work with what you have where we can.

  4. 4

    First draft

You see a working draft of your site, on desktop and phone, and tell us what to change.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope revisions, then you approve it. Nothing goes live until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

What roofers ask us before they start

How much does a website for a roofing business cost?
£49.99 a month, with a £0 upfront website design fee. Your first £49.99 is taken at signup and the Website runs on an 18-month minimum term, which is 18 payments of £49.99, £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, support, and your own Client Platform. Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month rolling, with no new minimum term, or move it elsewhere.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is registered and managed as part of the plan, and if you already own one we will use it. You will never need to log into WordPress or a hosting account: PrimeStart looks after the technical side and you deal with one place, your Client Platform.
Can the site lead with storm damage and call-outs?
Yes, if you genuinely turn out. We add a clear strip with your number, the hours you answer and the areas you will attend at short notice. If you only take planned work, the site says so and leads with re-roofs and flat roofs instead. Promising a response you cannot keep in bad weather only brings the wrong calls.
Can the site explain what a re-roof actually includes?
Yes, and it should, because that is where prices get compared. We set the stages out in your words: strip the old covering, check the timbers, breathable membrane, new battens, tiles or slates, ridge and verge, leadwork, scaffold, waste and making good. Customers who understand the job argue far less about the figure at the bottom.
Can a customer send a photograph of the roof?
Yes. The survey request takes a photograph, so someone can send the slipped tile or the stain on the bedroom ceiling before you put a ladder up. Enquiries reach you by email with the postcode and the problem, and if you would rather people message you, we can add a link that opens a chat with your number.
Will you show my NFRC or CompetentRoofer registration?
If you hold them, yes. NFRC membership, CompetentRoofer registration, TrustMark, your insurance and any insurance-backed warranty are shown in the first screen, on the about page and beside the survey request. We only ever display what you actually hold, and we ask for it during onboarding.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first draft ready within 5 working days from Ready to Build, which is the point where PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms the project can start. Payment and onboarding on their own do not begin that period. You review the draft in your Client Platform, ask for changes, and nothing is published until you approve it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on how easily local customers find you, for £349.99 a month in total with the website included rather than charged on top. Three priority searches are agreed with you, and the work covers your Google Business Profile, local listings and monthly improvements to the site. The SEO work runs on a 6-month minimum, and every month of it counts towards the 18-month Website term. Most roofers begin on the Website and take the SEO work on later when they want more of a particular job. Nobody can promise a position or a number of enquiries, and we do not.
