Websites for watch and clock repairers

One watch just needs a new battery and strap. One has a movement that hasn't run properly in years and a family history attached to it.

PrimeStart designs a website around your watch or clock repair business, then hosts it, updates it and looks after it for you. Built to serve the quick everyday repair and the considered restoration alike — from £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee.

Why a website

One customer wants a battery changed. One wants an honest answer about a family watch.

A dead battery is a quick, priced job. A movement with family history is a trust decision. A website that only speaks to one loses the other.

01

A quick job wants a straight answer, fast

Typical pricing and whether it can be done while they wait, so a customer doesn't make a wasted trip for a simple job.

02

A family piece wants an honest assessment first

What the movement actually needs, stated plainly, so someone trusting a valued watch to a stranger knows where they stand.

03

Real work on the bench does the persuading

Before-and-after photographs of real repairs tell a customer more about the standard of work than any description could.

04

They want to describe the piece, not fill in a generic form

A repair enquiry that asks for the watch or clock, its condition and history gets an honest assessment started without a wasted visit.

Getting customers

Somebody with a dead battery, or a family watch that means something, is searching right now.

“Watch repair near me”, “clock repair cost”, “can this watch be restored” — different searches, different pieces. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of being found for each one.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, “watch repair Edinburgh”, “clock restoration Lothians” and “antique watch repair near me” — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so you appear on the map with your services, your areas and a way to reach you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review after a repair is finished, because reviews are what someone checks before trusting a family watch to a workshop.
  • Content that answers real questions. What a movement service actually involves, and how an antique clock is assessed — the things people search for before they are ready to enquire.
  • A monthly report you can read. What we did, what moved, and what's next — in your Client Platform, in clear, straightforward language.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

Pricing for a quick job and an honest assessment for a considered one need different treatment.

A customer with a dead battery and a customer with a family watch are both making a real decision, but not the same one, and a template can't tell the difference. We build the bench's quick repairs and its considered restorations as two clear paths through the same site.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. It's built around everyday repair pricing shown plainly, an honest assessment process for considered restorations, and real work photographed on the bench.

“One customer wants a battery changed today. One wants an honest answer about a movement that hasn't run in years. Neither wants a promise the workshop can't keep.”

  • 1

    Battery, strap and glass

The everyday repairs listed clearly, so a quick job stays quick.

  • 2

    Honest, before anything is promised

What a movement actually needs, stated plainly, rather than a promise made to win the job.

  • 3

    Not a brochure render

Repairs and restorations photographed before and after on the bench, so a customer can judge the standard before trusting a valued piece to it.

  • 4

    Insurance work, kept separate

An insurance valuation enquiry treated differently from a repair drop-in, so it's quoted and scheduled properly.

Most of our work comes through word of mouth and repeat customers. Do we need a website?
Word of mouth keeps the bench busy until a regular source of referrals goes quiet. A website is what a new customer checks before trusting a family watch to someone they've never met — and it works during the quiet weeks too.
How much does a website for a watch or clock repairer cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Can the site show which repairs are while-you-wait?
Yes. Battery changes, strap replacement and other quick jobs are listed separately from a full service or restoration, so a customer knows what to expect before they walk in.
Will the site promise that any movement can be restored?
No. The site sets out an honest assessment process instead, so a customer understands what a movement genuinely needs before committing, rather than being promised a result that isn't realistic for their piece.
Can we show real before-and-after photos of restorations?
Yes. Real repairs and restorations shown honestly, on the bench, do more to earn trust than any description of the craft.
Can we show our BHI membership?
Yes, if you hold it. British Horological Institute membership, any guild accreditation and your insurance are set out together, worded exactly as they appear on your certificate.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
Can the site handle an insurance valuation enquiry, not just a repair?
Yes, as a separate enquiry route that asks for the piece and its purpose, so a valuation request is treated differently from a repair drop-in.
