A search for 'Colney Hatch' can send someone a mile in the wrong direction. Your site has to correct it.

“Accountant colney hatch”, “tutor n11”, “handyman near me”: each of these risks resolving to the redeveloped estate on Friern Barnet Road unless the site states Colney Hatch Lane precisely. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.

  1. 01
    “accountant Colney Hatch

Searched by someone who knows the name but may be picturing the redeveloped estate on Friern Barnet Road rather than Colney Hatch Lane itself.

  2. 02
    “tutor N11

Typed by a parent near the Barnet/Haringey boundary who wants a tutor who actually covers this side of Colney Hatch Lane.

  3. 03
    “handyman near me

Made by someone on Colney Hatch Lane who needs a site that states the road plainly rather than the wider, more famous name alone.

Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what customers in Colney Hatch actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Colney Hatch

A name with its own history, on a road junction, not a borrowed building.

Colney Hatch was originally the name of a hamlet in the parish of Friern Barnet, first recorded in the early 15th century; 'hatch' probably derives from a hitch-gate of the kind found on forest boundaries, and the hamlet marked the boundary between the parish and the royal hunting ground once known as Enfield Chase. The Colney Hatch Lunatic Asylum opened on Friern Barnet Road in 1851, was renamed Friern Mental Hospital in 1937, and became notorious enough that 'Colney Hatch' entered English as a term of abuse associated with madness. Those buildings still stand, redeveloped as housing under the name Princess Park Manor, but they stand under Friern Barnet's address, a mile from here, not this one.

What is actually Colney Hatch's own ground today is Colney Hatch Lane itself, the B550, which runs from Friern Barnet to Muswell Hill, crosses the North Circular Road, and forms the meeting point between the London Boroughs of Barnet and Haringey. No separate parade or high street was found for it beyond that road.

That gap between the name's fame and its actual address is the whole commercial problem here. A search for 'Colney Hatch' can just as easily surface the redeveloped estate a mile away as it can a business genuinely trading on Colney Hatch Lane, so the website's job is to state the road and the service plainly rather than lean on a reputation that belongs to a different building entirely.

Eighteen months, then the website is yours.

The name Colney Hatch has carried its own meaning in English for well over a century. A website that only ever rents itself back to you monthly doesn't help you build a lasting correction to what that name gets misread as. Complete the minimum term here and it belongs to you, whether you stay with PrimeStart or not.

  1. Month 1 We design and build it

Your first £49.99 is taken at signup. We build the website around your business and you approve it before anything is published.

  2. Months 1 to 18 We host, manage and support it

Hosting, security, backups, updates and reasonable small changes, while you make the monthly payments. 18 payments of £49.99, £899.82 in total.

  3. After month 18 The website is yours

Complete the minimum term and the payments due under it, and the website belongs to you. It was built for your business, and it stays with your business.

  4. Your choice Stay, or move it

Stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website to hosting of your own.

Moving the website elsewhere is subject to the third-party licences any website relies on, such as WordPress, plugins, fonts and stock photography. The full wording lives in the Website Subscription Terms.

Colney Hatch industries

Trades and services on Colney Hatch Lane decide the shape of this site, not a building that belongs to a neighbour.

An accountant and a tutor both working on Colney Hatch Lane need different websites, but neither is helped by a page that borrows the redeveloped estate's imagery from Friern Barnet's own record.

Questions

Questions from Colney Hatch businesses

Do you work with businesses trading in Colney Hatch?
Yes, for accountants, tutors, cleaners and home-service trades working on Colney Hatch Lane in N11. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
Isn't the old asylum in Colney Hatch?
No. The Colney Hatch Lunatic Asylum opened on Friern Barnet Road in 1851 and its redeveloped buildings, now Princess Park Manor, stand under Friern Barnet's address, a mile from here. Colney Hatch's own ground today is Colney Hatch Lane, connecting Friern Barnet with Muswell Hill.
Why does the name 'Colney Hatch' sound familiar?
The asylum that opened here in 1851 became notorious enough that 'Colney Hatch' entered English as a term of abuse for madness. That is a dated fact about the name's history, not a comment on the area, its residents or mental health today, and it is separate from the physical buildings, which stand under a different address.
We already have a website we like. Can you just do the SEO?
No. SEO is not sold on its own any more — it is only available as part of Website + SEO, £349.99 a month in total, and that means building you a new PrimeStart website rather than adding search work onto the one you have now. A business in Colney Hatch would be starting from the same place as everyone else here: a new site built around the trade, with the SEO work running from day one rather than retrofitted onto what already exists. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
What does a Colney Hatch business website cost?
Website is £49.99 a month with a £0 upfront design fee, and it costs the same in N11 as anywhere else. The first £49.99 is taken at signup, and there is an 18-month minimum term, £899.82 in total. Once that term is complete, the website is yours.
How does ongoing SEO work?
Website + SEO is £349.99 a month total, with the website included rather than charged on top. Each month we work on three agreed local searches, for example “accountant colney hatch” or “tutor n11”, alongside your Google Business Profile and the website itself. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
