Highams Park took its newer name from a park and a lake that Humphry Repton made by damming the River Ching, but Hale End was the name before it and never entirely went away: Hale End Library on The Avenue and Hale End Road both still carry it. A customer may search either. There is a third layer too, because the industrial history here is remembered by a blue plaque on Larkshall Road recording the Halex factory of the British Xylonite Company, which stood on that site from 1897 to 1971. A site naming the station, the lake and Hale End Road together is what makes sure every version of the name arrives in the same place. We design, build, host and manage that kind of site for £49.99 a month, and we can work on your Google visibility once it is live.

Highams Park
A lake made by Humphry Repton, and an older name that refuses to disappear.
Highams Park Lake was created by the landscape gardener Humphry Repton by damming the River Ching, and the newer name of the area comes from it. Before that, the whole area was known as Hale End, and the older name is still in everyday use: Hale End Library sits on The Avenue alongside the Jubilee Sports Ground, formerly Truman's Sports Ground, and Hale End Road runs east. The Manor House of the historic Highams estate is now Woodford County High School for Girls.
The centre is small and station-led. Highams Park station is on the London Overground Chingford branch line from Liverpool Street to Chingford, and the trading around it is independent rather than chain-led. The signal box at the station reopened in 2017 as a crêperie, which is a fair indication of the scale and character of the place.
The industrial history is marked precisely. A blue plaque on Larkshall Road reads: Plastics Historical Society. On this site, from 1897-1971, stood the Halex factory of the British Xylonite Company. For a business here, all of this adds up to one practical point: there are two live names for the same ground, and a page that uses only the newer one is invisible to anyone who grew up calling it the older one.
- Highams Park station
- Highams Park Lake
- The Avenue and Hale End Library
- Hale End Road
- Larkshall Road
Hale End and Highams Park both name the same ground and both are in current use, so we write for both rather than choosing between them.

Two names, both current, both used by real customers.
Somebody searching Hale End Road and somebody searching Highams Park want the same street. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.
- 01“cafe highams park”
The newer name, taken from the lake Humphry Repton created, and the one on the station and most current signage.
- 02“plumber hale end road”
The older name for the same ground, still carried by the road and by Hale End Library on The Avenue, and used by anyone who has lived here a long time.
- 03“dentist e4”
A postcode search shared with Chingford and South Chingford, so the site has to say which E4 centre it means rather than relying on the postcode.
Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people around the station actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Highams Park industries
A small independent centre where both names have to be covered.
A cafe by Highams Park station and a plumber working off Hale End Road are found by customers using different names for the same neighbourhood, which is a targeting problem rather than a wording preference.
