Leytonstone takes its name from Leyton-atte-Stone, recorded from the 14th century after a Roman milestone, and it has fixed points that Leyton a mile away has no claim to at all: Leytonstone Library, a Grade II* listed art deco building completed in 1934, St John the Baptist's Church, built in 1832, and a tube station whose walls carry mosaics of Alfred Hitchcock's films, unveiled in May 2001, because he was born at 517 on this High Road. None of that helps when a customer types the shorter name by mistake. Naming the milestone, the library or the mosaics is what puts something on the page only one of the two places has. We design, build, host and manage that kind of site for £49.99 a month, and we can work on your Google visibility once it is live.

The library, the milestone and the mosaics are yours. The name almost is not.
Searches carrying Leytonstone are constantly split with Leyton. Searches carrying the High Road landmarks are not. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.
- 01“plumber leytonstone”
The main search, and the one that leaks to Leyton, a separate place a mile away with its own High Road and its own Town Hall on Adelaide Road.
- 02“cafe leytonstone high road”
The trading street itself, which is where the independents are, and which is a different road from the High Road that runs through Leyton.
- 03“dentist near leytonstone station”
A landmark search using the 1947 station with the Hitchcock mosaics, which is a fixed point no neighbouring place can claim.
Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people on the High Road actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Leytonstone
A milestone, an art deco library and a tube station full of film mosaics.
The High Road here runs on the ancient route from Epping into London, and the name comes from Leyton-atte-Stone, recorded from the 14th century and referring to a Roman milestone. Leytonstone tube station opened in 1947 to a post-war modernist design by Thomas Bilbow, and since May 2001 its walls have carried mosaics of Alfred Hitchcock's films, because Hitchcock was born at 517 Leytonstone High Road.
The other fixed points are unusually strong for a high street this size. Leytonstone Library is a Grade II* listed art deco building completed in 1934. St John the Baptist's Church was built in 1832 and consecrated in 1833. The Red Lion has stood on its site since 1670, with the current building dating from 1891, and the Harrow Green war memorial at the southern end was revealed in 1925. Trading along the road is independent food, services and small retail rather than chain-led shopping.
The commercial difficulty is the name. Leyton is a separate place with its own High Road, its own Town Hall on Adelaide Road and its own retail park, and the two names differ by one syllable spoken and four letters written. Directories, customers passing an address on and search boxes all lose that difference regularly. A page that leads with the milestone, the library, the mosaics or Harrow Green is naming things Leyton cannot also claim, which is the only reliable way to hold the difference.
- Leytonstone High Road
- Leytonstone Library
- St John the Baptist's Church, Leytonstone
- Leytonstone tube station and its Hitchcock mosaics
- Harrow Green
- Church Lane
Because Leyton is a mile away with a nearly identical name, we anchor the page on the library, the mosaics or Harrow Green rather than the area name alone.
Leytonstone industries
Independent trades on a road with a very confusable name.
A cafe and a plumber on Leytonstone High Road are found differently from each other, but both lose the same share of searches to Leyton, and both need a landmark on the page to hold the difference.
Two ways to start on Leytonstone High Road.
A professional website, or that website with ongoing SEO from the start. Both name the fixed points on this High Road, because the area name alone is shared in all but one syllable.
