Web design for window cleaners

A round is an asset. It should look like one.

Window cleaning is one of the few trades where the customer list is worth more than the van. Rounds get bought and sold, and what they sell on is how many houses, how tight, and how reliably they pay. A website that fills the gaps on the streets you already do is worth more than one that brings work from twenty miles away. We build it that way, then host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

The round

The best new customer lives next door to an old one.

Every extra house on a street you already clean is nearly pure profit: the ladder is already off the van and the water is already in the tank. A house on the other side of town is half an hour of diesel. Your website should be recruiting the first kind.

  • Name the streets, not the city

"Chester" is competitive and vague. Hoole, Upton and Vicars Cross are what people actually type, and they are the searches you can win.

  • Say where the round has room

A short line saying which areas you are taking on this month turns your website into a recruiting tool for the exact streets you want.

  • A full round is good marketing

Saying an area is full does not lose you work. It makes you the cleaner people wait for, and it stops you driving across town for one house.

The streets you already do, then the ones you would like to.

Prices from

Publish the price. It is the whole conversation.

Window cleaning is priced by house type and it barely varies, which makes it one of the few trades where publishing a list is a straightforward win. It answers the only question most people have, and it stops you quoting the same figures forty times a month.

  • From, and what moves it

House type, how many windows, access and how long since the last clean. Say those beside the price and nobody feels caught out at the door.

  • One-offs cost more than the round

Worth stating plainly. A first clean on a house nobody has done for two years is a different job from the fourth visit, and the page can say so without apology.

Prices shown are the example company's illustrative rates. Yours are your own, and we change them whenever you want.

On a phone

Nobody looks up a window cleaner on a laptop.

This is as close to a purely mobile trade as it gets. Somebody sees a card through the door, or a clean house on their street, and searches on a phone while standing in the kitchen. If your site is slow or the number is hard to tap, they ring the next one.

  • The price is the first thing

Not a hero image, not a mission statement. House type and a price, visible without scrolling, because that is the only thing they came for.

  • One tap to join the round

A short form or a phone number, not a contact page with six fields. Most people will not type more than a postcode.

  • Fast on a weak signal

No heavy sliders, no video. The site loads on a phone in a back garden with two bars, which is exactly where it gets read.

The work

The round pays the bills. The add-ups pay for the year.

Every customer on your round is already a customer for three or four other jobs, and most of them do not know you do them. Saying so on the website is the cheapest growth available to you.

The round

Four-weekly or eight-weekly, same day, same streets.

  • Pure water pole cleaningFed from a tank and filtered, so glass dries without spotting and frames and sills get done at the same time.
  • Frames, sills and doorsIncluded as standard, which is worth saying because plenty of cleaners charge for it and customers assume the worst.
  • Text the night beforeSo side gates are left open and nobody wastes a visit. The most-appreciated thing in the trade and it costs nothing.

The add-ups

Higher-value work sold to people who already trust you and already pay you.

  • Gutter clearingVacuumed from the ground with camera footage before and after, usually twice a year and usually in autumn.
  • Fascias, soffits and claddingThe white plastic that goes green. Transforms the front of a house and takes an hour.
  • Conservatory roofsThe job people never think to ask for and are delighted by. Worth a page of its own.

Commercial

Shopfronts and small premises, usually weekly and usually early.

  • Shopfronts and officesWeekly or fortnightly, before opening, invoiced monthly rather than collected at the door.
  • Pubs, salons and surgeriesRegular, reliable and clustered on one street, which makes them the most efficient work you can get.

Anything you do not take on comes off the site. If you do not go above two storeys, nobody rings you for a block of flats.

Your site plan

Five pages, and the price is on the first one.

This is not a trade that needs a long website. It needs a fast one that answers the price question, proves you are local and makes joining the round take ten seconds.

The logic of SEO

Being found in your own postcode is worth more than being found in the city.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. For a window cleaner the useful searches are unusually small and unusually specific, which is good news.

The kind of searches SEO works on

  1. window cleaner Chester
  2. gutter cleaning Chester
  3. conservatory roof cleaning Chester

£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

  1. 1

A website that answers the price

Somebody standing in their kitchen with a phone wants a number and a postcode check. The site that gives both in five seconds gets the customer; the one with a slideshow does not.

  2. 2

Found by the people already looking

The SEO work is monthly work on the local searches, your Google Business Profile and the listings that decide who appears when somebody near you types window cleaner near me.

  3. 3

    Density beats reach

Visibility in the three suburbs you already work is worth far more than visibility across a county, because those are the houses you can add without adding a mile.

  4. 4

A site that turns a look into a round

Price, postcode, one tap. The whole point is that joining the round takes less effort than closing the tab.

We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts.

Your Client Platform

One place to watch it being built, and to change a price.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives: the stage it has reached, what we are waiting on, the draft to look through, and the button that says you are happy with it.

  • Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
  • Send photographs straight from your phone
  • Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
  • Preview the draft on a laptop and a phone, and mark up changes
  • Approve the website before anything goes live
  • Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
  • See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)

There is nothing technical to learn. One login to your Client Platform, and you never have to open WordPress.

The plans

The same window cleaning website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A window cleaner's website built around the round, published prices and a form that takes ten seconds.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed local searches, aimed at the streets you already cover. How SEO works

How it works

Your part takes less time than one street.

Choose a plan, tell us your prices and your areas, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Tell us the round

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: your prices by house type, how often you come, the streets and villages you cover, the extra work you do, and where enquiries should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a price or an area needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone first: prices, areas, and the ten-second join form.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions window cleaners ask us

How much does a website for a window cleaner cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Is a website worth it when most of my work comes from cards and referrals?
The website is what makes the card work. Somebody finds a card on the mat, does not know you, and looks you up before ringing. A page with your prices, your areas and a few photographs turns a card that would have gone in the bin into a customer on the round.
Should I really publish my prices?
In this trade, usually yes. The price barely varies by house type, it is the only question most people have, and publishing it saves you repeating the same figures dozens of times a month. We show them as "from", with the things that change them written beside.
Can people pay through the site?
PrimeStart sites do not take payments, so no card payments on the page. What we can do is explain how you take payment — standing order, bank transfer, a payment app or cash — and link to whatever system you already use, so customers set it up themselves.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. You do not need it to start, and plenty of window cleaners begin with the Website and take SEO up later. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of enquiries, and we do not.
