Web design for cleaning companies

One website cannot sell to a homeowner and an office manager.

A householder wants to know you are insured, DBS-checked and will send the same cleaner every week. A facilities manager wants specifications, cover arrangements and an invoice. They are two businesses that happen to share a van, and putting both on one page is why most cleaning websites convert badly. Yours separates them, and we host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Two customers

The householder and the office manager want opposite things.

Both are searching for a cleaner. Almost nothing else about them is the same, including what would make them trust you, what they will pay for and how they decide. The site gives each of them their own route from the first click.

Domestic

Somebody letting a stranger into their home

This is a trust decision before it is a price decision. They are picturing a person with a key to their house while they are at work, and they want reassurance far more than they want a list of tasks.

  • Vetting and insurance said plainly, near the top
  • The same cleaner each visit, or honest about why not
  • What a regular clean includes, and what it does not
  • An hourly or per-visit price they can picture
Commercial

Somebody buying a service for a building

A facilities or office manager is comparing suppliers on paper. They need to see that you can cover sickness, work out of hours, carry the right insurance and invoice properly.

  • Contract cleaning, out of hours and cover arrangements
  • Employers' liability and the insurance levels you carry
  • COSHH, method statements and risk assessments if you hold them
  • A named contact and a route to a site visit

Splitting them is the single biggest improvement most cleaning websites can make. Neither customer has to read past the other to find themselves.

The work

Say what is in a clean, and what is not.

Most complaints in this trade are scope arguments: they thought the oven was included, you thought it was a deep clean. Writing it down on the website settles it before anybody books, and it makes you look organised rather than defensive.

The weekly or fortnightly visit that pays the wages and makes the round predictable.

What every visit includes

Kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting and beds if asked, listed room by room so nobody is guessing.

What is extra, and roughly what it costs

Ovens, insides of windows, fridges and ironing. Named as extras rather than discovered as omissions.

Keys, alarms and access

How you hold keys, how they are labelled and what happens if a cleaner is ill. The questions people are too polite to ask.

Anything you do not take on comes off the site. If you do not do carpets or ironing, nobody rings you for them.

Where you clean

A round only works if it is tight.

Four houses in one village is a profitable morning. Four houses across a county is a day of driving. Saying exactly where you work means the enquiries that arrive are ones you can slot into an existing round.

  • Suburbs, not counties

"South Derbyshire" is not what anybody types. Naming Allestree, Mickleover and Littleover is what puts you in front of somebody searching from their own street.

  • Rounds beat radiuses

If you already clean three houses on a road, one more is nearly free. The site can say which areas you are actively building, so the right enquiries come first.

  • Commercial travels further

A contract worth five days a week justifies a longer drive than a fortnightly house. The two radiuses can differ, and the site can say so.

Credentials

You are asking for a key to somebody's house.

No other trade asks for quite this much trust quite this early. A cleaner is in the house alone, every week, often when nobody is home. Vetting and insurance are not small print here — they are the entire reason somebody chooses you over the cheaper advert on a local group.

We display exactly what you hold and nothing beyond it: no borrowed badges, no invented ratings, no claims about how long you have been trading.

Things we'll display if you hold them

  • Public liability insurance, with the level you carry
  • Employers' liability insurance if you have staff
  • DBS checks on the people who enter homes
  • Your reference and vetting process, described honestly
  • Key holding procedure and how keys are labelled
  • COSHH training and method statements for commercial work
  • Reviews wherever they already live: Google, Checkatrade, Facebook

Scheme names here are illustrative. You tell us what you hold during onboarding, and that is exactly what appears.

The enquiry

Bedrooms and bathrooms price a clean. Nothing else does.

"How much to clean my house?" is unanswerable, and answering it badly costs you a phone call and a visit. Two numbers and a frequency give you a price you can send in a line, which is usually the difference between booking the job and being the third company that never replied.

  1. 1
    Bedrooms and bathrooms

The two numbers that decide the hours. Everything else is detail, and asking for them first means you can price without a visit.

  2. 2
    How often

Weekly, fortnightly or one-off changes the rate and whether it fits a round at all. It also tells you instantly whether this is a customer or a job.

  3. 3
    The extras, up front

Ovens, windows, ironing and carpets named on the form, so the scope argument happens before the booking rather than after the clean.

  4. 4
    Pets, keys and access

The practical things that decide whether a visit runs smoothly. It arrives as one message, and you can answer between jobs.

If you would rather people rang, your number stays the biggest thing on every page. The form is for the ones who never will.

Your site plan

Five pages, and the first choice is which kind of customer you are.

The home page's real job is to send a householder one way and a business the other, in one click, without either feeling like an afterthought.

More about the Client Platform

Illustration of the Client Platform for a fictional cleaning companies business. SEO reporting is included with Website + SEO.

SEO

Three searches, and they buy three different businesses.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. In cleaning the three searches decide whether you grow a round, win a contract or chase one-offs.

  • £349.99/monthTotal. The website is included: the £49.99 Website is not added on top.
  • 3 searchesAgreed with you at the start. Additional agreed search targets are £50/month each.
  • Monthly workSearch and competitor research, website improvements, Google Business Profile work, local listings, technical monitoring and a clear monthly report in your Client Platform.
  • 6-month minimumAfter the SEO minimum you can continue, or stop the SEO work and keep the Website for the rest of its 18-month term. Every month of it counts towards both.
What we don’t promise

Nobody can promise a position on Google, and we do not. What we commit to is the agreed work every month, tracking what happens, and changing course when the evidence says to.

  1. 01
    “cleaners near me Derby

The round. Domestic, repeating, and worth far more over a year than the price of one clean suggests. This is the search that builds a business you could sell.

  2. 02
    “office cleaning Derby

The contract. Fewer searches, much higher value, and a decision made over days rather than minutes. Being visible here changes the shape of the company.

  3. 03
    “end of tenancy cleaning Derby

The one-off. Urgent, price-tolerant and constant, because somebody is always moving. Good margin and no loyalty, which is fine when it fills the gaps.

We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts. Additional agreed searches are +£50 a month each.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

The plans

The same cleaning website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A cleaning company website that separates domestic from commercial and prices a job from three answers.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed local searches: the round, the contracts or the one-offs. How SEO works

How it works

Your part takes one evening.

Choose a plan, tell us what you clean and who for, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Tell us what you include

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: the services you offer, what a visit covers, your rates, your vetting and insurance, the areas you work, and where enquiries should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a rate or a scope line needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone and a laptop: the two routes, the scope written down, and the quote form.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions cleaning companies ask us

How much does a website for a cleaning company cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Can customers book a clean online?
Not a live booking diary, no. PrimeStart sites do not include a booking engine. What you get is a quote request form that asks for bedrooms, bathrooms, frequency and extras, and lands in your inbox as one message. If you already use a booking or scheduling system, we can link to it.
Should I publish my hourly rate?
Usually an indicative rate or a per-visit range works better than an exact hourly figure, with the things that move it stated plainly: size, frequency, condition and extras. People who see a range trust you more than people who see nothing, and you stop being rung by customers who were never in your bracket.
Can I show that my cleaners are DBS-checked?
Yes, if they are. You tell us during onboarding exactly what vetting you carry out — DBS, references, right to work, training — and we display those and nothing else. We never add a check you have not done or a badge you have not earned.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. You do not need it to start, and plenty of cleaning companies begin with the Website and take SEO up later. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of enquiries, and we do not.
