Belsize Park

Two real parades, a hundred metres apart, and a search that can't tell them apart on its own.

Belsize Village and England's Lane sit either side of the Belsize conservation area, an area first designated in 1973 with a further statement adopted in 2003. Belsize Village is a short pedestrianised cluster of restaurants, cafes and independent boutiques; England's Lane, a few streets away, is a parallel run of its own independent shops and cafes. Between and around them stand the villa terraces and mansion blocks of Belsize Square and the wider conservation area, and a further stretch of shops and services fronts Haverstock Hill immediately around Belsize Park station, on the Northern line.

That is more genuine retail than most of this hill has: Hampstead has one village high street, Swiss Cottage is a civic-and-market junction built around a road, and the streets immediately around are largely residential with no parade at all. Belsize Park is the one locality here with two of its own, which makes it denser and more independent than the purely residential streets around it, without ever tipping into a destination centre people travel to.

The trouble two parades this close together create is that they read identically to someone searching on a phone. "Cafe near Belsize Park" doesn't say whether you mean Belsize Village or England's Lane, and a shared postcode won't tell them either. A website that states plainly which parade you're on, which side street, and how far the walk is from the station does more to win that search than a generic Belsize Park page ever will, because it removes the guesswork the postcode creates.

Two ways to start on Belsize Village, England's Lane or the streets around them.

A professional website, or that website with ongoing SEO from the start. The website is built to the same standard whichever route you take.

The search doesn't know which parade you're on. The result should.

"Cafe near Belsize Park", "restaurant England's Lane", "shop Belsize Village": most of this searching is done by someone comparing two parades a hundred metres apart without realising it. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these, so more of that comparison lands on the right one: yours.

  1. 01
    “cafe near Belsize Park

Made by someone standing at the station or scrolling a map, comparing Belsize Village against England's Lane without knowing there's a difference, unless a result names the parade first.

  2. 02
    “restaurant England's Lane

Searched by someone who already knows England's Lane exists and is choosing between its own independents, distinct from whoever is searching Belsize Village instead.

  3. 03
    “boutique Belsize Village

A search made by someone who wants the pedestrianised cluster specifically, not the wider conservation area or the shops on Haverstock Hill near the station.

Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people actually type near Belsize Village and England's Lane. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Belsize Park industries

The trade decides the shape of the site. Which parade you're on decides who's actually searching.

A cafe on England's Lane and a boutique in Belsize Village need different websites, but both are competing against the parade a hundred metres away as much as anywhere else in NW3.

Questions from Belsize Park businesses

Is this the Belsize Park with the pond, the heath and the high street?
No. Hampstead's high street, Heath Street and the pond are a separate locality with its own page. This page is written for Belsize Park itself: Belsize Village, England's Lane, Belsize Square and the stretch of Haverstock Hill closest to Belsize Park station.
Do you work with businesses on both Belsize Village and England's Lane?
Yes. We build for either parade, and for the villa terraces and mansion blocks around Belsize Square. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
Does it actually matter which parade my business is on?
For search, yes. Belsize Village and England's Lane sit a hundred metres apart and look identical to someone searching Belsize Park on a phone. Naming the specific parade, the side street and the walk from the station is what separates one result from the other.
We already have a website we like. Can you just do the SEO?
No. SEO is not sold on its own any more — it is only available as part of Website + SEO, £349.99 a month in total, and that means building you a new PrimeStart website rather than adding search work onto the one you have now. A business on Belsize Village or England's Lane would be starting from the same place as everyone else here: a new site built around the trade, with the SEO work running from day one rather than retrofitted onto what already exists. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
What does a Belsize Park business website cost?
Website is £49.99 a month with a £0 upfront design fee. The first £49.99 is taken at signup, and there is an 18-month minimum term, £899.82 in total. Once that term is complete, the website is yours.
How does ongoing SEO work?
Website + SEO is £349.99 a month total, with the website included rather than charged on top. Each month we work on three agreed local searches, for example "cafe England's Lane" or "boutique Belsize Village", alongside your Google Business Profile and the website itself. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
Is the whole of Haverstock Hill part of Belsize Park?
No. Only the stretch immediately around Belsize Park station is treated as Belsize Park here. Further south towards Chalk Farm belongs to a different local identity, which we cover on its own page.
