Web design for businesses trading on East Barnet Road
New Barnet was built by a railway company in 1850, not by a market charter, and it still trades that way.

New Barnet railway station is what the Great Northern Railway opened here in 1850; an 1876 guidebook called the result “one of those new half-finished railway villages”, and the description fits a place that was made by a timetable rather than by centuries of market days. East Barnet Road shopping parade runs east from the station past a Sainsbury's, independent shops and cafes, the New Barnet War Memorial commemorates the 278 local men who died in the First World War, and a new leisure centre with a 25-metre pool opened here in 2019. This is an ordinary suburban parade, and it needs an ordinary website that says plainly what you sell, where exactly on East Barnet Road you are, and how to reach you from the station. We design, build, host and manage that kind of site for £49.99 a month, and we can work on your Google visibility once it is live.

East Barnet Road is an ordinary parade, and it gets found the way any ordinary parade does.
“Cafe east barnet road”, “hairdresser new barnet”, “shop near me”: every one of these is typed by someone walking from the station or driving to the Sainsbury's who wants an answer fast. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.
- 01“cafe East Barnet Road”
Made by someone already walking the parade from the station or the Sainsbury's who wants to know what's open and what's on the menu before they arrive.
- 02“hairdresser New Barnet”
Searched by someone choosing between the parade's salons on price, availability and reviews, not on local history.
- 03“shop near me”
Typed by someone near the station checking what's within walking distance right now, which only an accurately located, up-to-date site can answer.
Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what customers on East Barnet Road actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

New Barnet
East Barnet Road, built around a station rather than a market square.
The Great Northern Railway built New Barnet station in 1850, and the settlement that grew up around it was new enough, and unfinished enough, that an 1876 guidebook described it plainly as “one of those new half-finished railway villages”. A town hall for the local board followed in 1892, and New Barnet became part of the East Barnet Urban District of Hertfordshire in 1894, transferring to Greater London and the new London Borough of Barnet only in 1965.
East Barnet Road runs east from the station and carries the area's actual shopping parade: a Sainsbury's anchoring a run of independent shops and cafes, the kind of ordinary suburban high street that exists because a railway put people here, not because a medieval charter gave the place a market day. The 1921 war memorial on the parade commemorates the 278 men of East Barnet who died in the First World War, and a new leisure centre, with a 25-metre pool and a gym, opened nearby in 2019.
None of that trading history is eight centuries deep, and it doesn't need to be. A business on East Barnet Road is competing on the same terms as any suburban parade: a customer wants to know what you sell, whether you're open, and how far you are from the station or the Sainsbury's car park. A website that answers that plainly does more work here than one that tries to borrow the market town's older story from the other side of the borough.
