Web design for solicitors
Legal clients arrive on the worst week of their year.
A death, a divorce, a dismissal, a purchase falling through. Nobody is browsing. They want to know that you do this exact thing, roughly what it costs, and that somebody will actually reply — and they are reading on a phone, at eleven at night, having already been let down by a firm that never rang back. We build the site for that, host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.
- Per month: £49.99
- Upfront website design fee: £0

Practice areas
People search for their problem, not for your department.
Nobody types "private client" or "contentious probate". They type what has happened to them, in their own words. A site organised around the situation finds people that one organised around your internal structure never will.

- 01
Buying or selling a home
The highest-volume work most firms do, and the most price-compared. Timescales, what causes delays and what your quote includes matter more here than anything else.
- 02
Wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney
Often prompted by a bereavement or a diagnosis. Written gently, with what is involved and what it costs, because people are reluctant to ring and ask.
- 03
Separation and children
Written for somebody frightened and often ashamed to be looking. Practical, calm and clear about the first step, which is usually a single meeting.
- 04
Employment problems
Dismissal, settlement agreements, discrimination. Time limits are short and strict here, so the page needs to say plainly that acting quickly matters.
- 05
Disputes
Neighbours, contracts, debts, wills contested. Written honestly about cost and proportionality, which is the conversation clients most need and least expect.
- 06
Business and commercial
Company matters, commercial property, contracts. A different reader entirely, and one who will read the whole page before making contact.
The site describes the services your firm offers and what a client can expect. It does not give legal advice, and every page is approved by you before publication.
After the enquiry
What happens between sending the form and having a solicitor.
This is the gap where firms lose most of their enquiries. People assume they will be ignored, because a great many have been. Setting out what happens next, and how quickly, is worth more than any amount of writing about heritage or values.
- 1
Your enquiry is read the same working day
Say who reads it and when. Even "by the end of the next working day" is enormously better than silence, and it is a commitment you can actually keep.
- 2
Conflict and identity checks
Why you have to check before advising, and what identification will be needed. It explains a delay that otherwise looks like indifference.
- 3
A first conversation
Free or fixed fee, on the phone or in person, and what it will cover. The step people are most nervous about committing to.
- 4
A written costs estimate
What you will do, what it will cost and on what basis, in writing before work starts. This is both a professional obligation and the thing clients most want to see.
- 5
Who will actually do the work
The name and the qualification of the person handling the file, and who covers when they are away. Firms rarely say this and clients always wonder.
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.
You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.
Regulation
A regulated firm's website has things it must carry.
Regulated law firms in the UK are subject to rules on what their websites must display and on publishing price and service information for certain types of work. A site that carries all of it properly is not just compliant; it reads as a firm that takes its obligations seriously.
We display exactly what your firm holds and nothing beyond it. We never imply regulated status, invent credentials, or describe someone as a solicitor unless you tell us they are.

- Your regulator, your firm's authorisation number and the required regulatory statement
- Price and service information for the work types where publication is required
- Your complaints procedure, and the ombudsman route with the applicable time limits
- Professional indemnity insurance information as required
- Each fee earner named, with their role and qualification stated accurately
- Registered company details and VAT number where applicable
- Your privacy notice and how client information is handled
- Reviews handled within the rules that apply to your firm
Your site plan
Five pages, arranged by what has happened to somebody.
It matches how people search, it satisfies the transparency expectations, and it means a frightened person finds the right page in one click rather than reading about your founding partner.
What the firm does, who for, where you are, and how an enquiry is handled.

Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives while it is being built, and where you ask for changes once it is live.
- Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
- Send documents straight from your phone
- Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
- Preview the draft on a phone before anybody else sees it
- Approve the website before it goes live
- Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
- See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)
There is nothing technical to learn and no WordPress to open. One login, and the rest is us.

SEO
Three searches, and they are the three things people worry about.
Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. Legal search is unusual: very high intent, very high value per matter, and almost entirely local for private client work.
- £349.99/monthTotal. The website is included: the £49.99 Website is not added on top.
- 3 searchesAgreed with you at the start. Additional agreed search targets are £50/month each.
- Monthly workSearch and competitor research, website improvements, Google Business Profile work, local listings, technical monitoring and a clear monthly report in your Client Platform.
- 6-month minimumAfter the SEO minimum you can continue, or stop the SEO work and keep the Website for the rest of its 18-month term. Every month of it counts towards both.
Nobody can promise a position on Google, and we do not. What we commit to is the agreed work every month, tracking what happens, and changing course when the evidence says to.
- solicitors near me
- conveyancing near me
- wills and probate near me
Conveyancing is the most price-compared and the most volume; probate and family work are higher value per matter and far less competitive. The right three depend entirely on which work your firm actually wants more of. We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts. Additional agreed searches are +£50 a month each.
Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.
The plans
The same law firm website, with or without the monthly SEO work.
The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.
A law firm website organised around what has happened to somebody, carrying the regulatory and price information properly.
Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.
Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

The first five seconds
Six things a frightened person needs immediately.
Somebody who has just been dismissed, or whose father has died, is not reading about your firm's history. These are the questions in their head when the page loads, and answering them fast is the whole job of the home page.
- 01
Do you do my kind of problem?
Practice areas named plainly In the words people use, not department names
- 02
Roughly what will it cost?
Published price information Where the rules require it, and a range where they do not
- 03
Will somebody actually reply?
When you will hear back A commitment you can keep beats silence every time
- 04
Who will do the work?
Named people With their role and qualification stated accurately
- 05
Are you properly regulated?
Authorisation shown With the register statement and complaints route
- 06
Is there a time limit?
Said where it applies Employment and some claims move faster than people expect
Where clients come from
Half your enquiries were referred and are checking you exist.
Legal work arrives two ways: somebody searches in a crisis, or somebody is given your name by an estate agent, an accountant, a friend or a former client. The second group is far more valuable and far more overlooked, because they are not discovering you, they are verifying you. What they find in the first minute — real people, clear costs, visible regulation — decides whether the recommendation converts.
Both routes remain firmly local for private client work. People want a firm they could physically attend if it came to it, even when the whole matter is handled by email. Naming the towns you serve is worth considerably more than describing a county, and it also helps the referrers, who tend to point people at firms in their own patch.

We do not want an enquiry form. Can people just ring?
Can you write the legal content?
How quickly will I see a first draft?
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
You handle the matter. We'll handle the website.
