Green Lanes searches are decided on the pavement, seconds before someone chooses a door.

"Ocakbaşı Green Lanes", "bakery N4", "barber Harringay": people have already decided to come to this street, so the search happens standing on it, comparing photographs and hours between doors that look alike. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these, so more of that comparison goes your way.

  1. 01
    “ocakbaşı Green Lanes

Chosen on the grill itself, on a stretch of Green Lanes with enough grills within sight of each other that a generic stock photograph loses every time, so real photos of the actual charcoal and the actual plate decide it.

  2. 02
    “bakery N4

A destination purchase as much as a local one on Green Lanes, bought on reputation for one or two specific things baked well, so naming what you're actually known for beats a generic near me page.

  3. 03
    “barber Harringay

Chosen visually and quickly on a phone, often against several barbers within two hundred metres of Grand Parade, where photographs of finished cuts and clear, current hours settle it.

Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people on Green Lanes actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Harringay

Two Harringay stations with almost the same name, and one Green Lanes full of near-identical doors.

Green Lanes is Harringay's spine, running from the northern edge of Finsbury Park up to Ducketts Common, with Grand Parade as its most distinctive stretch: a run of Edwardian shopfronts anchored by The Salisbury, a Grade II* listed pub built in 1898-9 by John Cathles Hill. No other street in London is home to as many businesses run by Turks and Kurds originating in Turkey and by Turkish Cypriots as this one, and the effect on trade is unusual: a customer arrives on Green Lanes already sure they want a grill, a bakery or a barber from this stretch, and picks between a dozen doors that all look, from the pavement, much the same.

The street has a second, quieter problem hiding in its geography. Harringay Green Lanes, on the Overground's Suffragette line, and Harringay station, on the Great Northern route at the south end of Wightman Road, are two different stations on two different networks with almost the same name, and it is very easy for a business's own listing to get filed against the wrong one, or against neither. Behind Green Lanes on the west side sits the Harringay Ladder, the grid of streets running between Green Lanes and Wightman Road, mostly residential rather than trading.

None of that is solved by a nicer shopfront, because the shopfront is not what most customers see first. It is solved by a website on Green Lanes that photographs your own food and your own work properly rather than using stock images, names the dishes people actually search for, states which of the two stations you are nearest with a walking time, and keeps opening hours current for a street that trades late. We build that for £49.99 a month, hosted and kept secure, and we can work on the searches that bring people to Green Lanes in the first place if you want that too.

Where our Harringay customers trade
  • Green Lanes
  • Grand Parade
  • The Harringay Ladder
  • Wightman Road
  • Ducketts Common

If you trade directly on Green Lanes between Finsbury Park and Ducketts Common, the site says so specifically, naming the nearer of the two Harringay stations. If you work the Ladder streets behind it as well, it says that instead.

Harringay industries

The trade decides the shape of the site. Green Lanes decides how crowded the comparison is.

A grill on Grand Parade and a barber on the Harringay Ladder need different websites before either needs a different postcode, but both are competing with several near-identical businesses within a few hundred metres.

View all FAQs · All locations

Do you work with businesses on Green Lanes?
Yes, along the whole stretch from the edge of Finsbury Park up to Ducketts Common, on Grand Parade, and back into the Harringay Ladder streets behind Wightman Road. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
There are several other businesses near me selling the same thing. Can a website really change that?
It's usually the single biggest factor, because on Green Lanes the decision to come to the street is already made before anyone picks a door. What decides the door is what a phone shows in the seconds before someone walks in: real photographs of your own food or your own work, the dishes or services you're actually known for named clearly, and hours that are genuinely up to date.
We're near Harringay Green Lanes, not the other Harringay station. Does that matter?
It does, because they're two separate stations on two different networks with almost the same name, and it is easy for a listing to get attached to the wrong one. We make sure the site states plainly which station you're near, with a walking time, so a search doesn't send someone to the wrong end of Green Lanes.
We already have a website we like. Can you just do the SEO?
No. SEO is not sold on its own any more — it is only available as part of Website + SEO, £349.99 a month in total, and that means building you a new PrimeStart website rather than adding search work onto the one you have now. For a Green Lanes business that already looks right and simply isn't being found for the right search, that's exactly what Website + SEO is built for. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
What does a Harringay business website cost?
Website is £49.99 a month with a £0 upfront design fee, and it costs the same on Green Lanes as anywhere else. The first £49.99 is taken at signup, and there's an 18-month minimum term, £899.82 in total. Once that term is complete, the website is yours.
How does ongoing SEO work?
Website + SEO is £349.99 a month total, with the website included rather than charged on top. Each month we work on three agreed local searches, for example "bakery N4", alongside your Google Business Profile and the website itself, then report on what was done. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
Everyone on this street already knows us. Do we still need to be found online?
Word of mouth carries a lot of trade here, but it doesn't reach the person who has never been to Green Lanes before and is choosing between a row of doors on a phone. A site built around what you're actually known for gives that person a reason to pick you before they've even reached the street.
