Why a website

A volunteer, donor or funder wants a clear answer before they commit their time or money.

They want to know what your organisation actually does, who it helps, and how to get involved - fast, because most visitors decide within a minute whether to look further or move on. A site that answers all three clearly, rather than a social media page that's hard to search, is often the difference between someone getting in touch and someone giving up.

01

A visitor checks your purpose

What your organisation exists to do, described exactly as your trustees or directors would explain it.

02

A visitor checks your activities

The activities and services you actually run, rather than a vague mission statement.

03

A visitor checks how to help

Volunteering, donating or getting in touch, described accurately for how your organisation actually accepts help.

04

They want a fast way to get in touch

A simple enquiry route, rather than a form built for something else, catches the enquiries you'd otherwise lose.

Getting found

A supporter usually searches before they ever get in touch.

"Charity volunteering near me", "community trust Preston", "how to donate locally" — searches made by people looking to help a local organisation. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of being visible when they do.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your organisation — say, "community charity Preston", "volunteer opportunities near me" and "local charity donations" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so you appear on the map with your activities, your area and a way to get in touch.
  • Reviews handled carefully. A simple way to gather genuine feedback from people you've worked with, shown as written and never used to imply a result we can't confirm.
  • Content that answers real questions. What your organisation does, who it helps, and how someone can get involved, written accurately for the people asking.
  • A monthly report you can read. What moved and what we're doing about it — in your Client Platform, without the analytics jargon.

We never promise rankings or a number of new visitors. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

A supporter needs a clear answer about purpose and how to help fast, not one generic charity template.

They're deciding whether your organisation's work matters to them and whether it's a real, trustworthy organisation, and a generic template that never actually says either makes that harder than it should be. We don't.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your logo dropped in. It's built around what your organisation actually does: your purpose, your activities, and your own way of accepting help.

"A supporter wants to know, clearly, what you actually do and how their time or money helps. Show them both, and the trust follows."

Why purpose and activities sit side by side on every charity and CIC site

1Purpose, stated clearly 2Activities, told apart 3Status, stated conditionally 4Ways to help
  • 1

What your organisation exists to do, never a vague mission statement

Described exactly as your organisation has it, never inflated to look bigger than it is.

  • 2

The activities and services you actually run

Never a generic capability list or an activity you don't actually run.

  • 3

Charity or CIC status, described only where it's registered

Named clearly where it's true, never assumed or implied for a different legal form.

  • 4

A link to your existing donation and volunteering routes

Never a donation processing system or membership system we build — a clear route to however support is already arranged.

Can the site take online donations?
The site can link clearly to your own donation page on a third-party service such as a payment provider or a giving platform you already use. We don't build or promise a donation processing system, a fundraising platform or a membership system as part of the standard plan.
Can the site say we're a registered charity?
Yes, where your charity is actually registered with the Charity Commission - required once annual income is over £5,000 - or your CIC is registered with the CIC Regulator. We state this conditionally and accurately, never assumed or implied for an organisation that hasn't registered.
Does the website include a volunteer sign-up system?
No. We never build or promise a membership system, a booking engine or an online sign-up system as part of the standard plan. The site describes how to get involved and links to your organisation's own existing contact route - rather than replacing it.
How much does a website for a charity or CIC cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is registered and managed as part of the plan, and if you already own one we will use it.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
