Websites for farm shops

A visitor wants to know what's actually grown on the farm before they drive out for the afternoon.

PrimeStart designs a website around your farm shop, then hosts it, updates it and looks after it for you. Built to tell own-grown produce apart from bought-in honestly, never a booking engine you don't run — from £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee.

Why a website

A visitor who can see what's genuinely grown here is one honest page away from making the drive.

Nobody drives out to a farm shop whose website can't honestly say what's actually grown there. A stock photo of a hay bale and a phone number loses that visitor every time.

01

A visitor wants to know what's genuinely grown here

Own-grown produce told apart from bought-in stock, honestly — never blurred together.

02

The butchery and café are checked before visiting

Shown as they actually are, kept distinct from each other and from the shop.

03

Seasonal events are checked before setting off

Real dates for PYO, pumpkins or Christmas trees, not a generic page left unchanged since last year.

04

No promise of a booking engine you don't run

No online ordering or table booking implied — the site builds the trust that starts the visit, honestly.

Getting customers

Somebody weighing up a farm shop visit against the supermarket's "local" shelf is searching right now, and not every search ends there.

"Farm shop near me", "pumpkin picking near me", "farm shop butchery counter" — different searches, different visitors. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of being found for each one, so you win the visit before the supermarket does.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your farm shop — say, "farm shop near me", "pumpkin picking near me" and "farm shop butchery counter" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so your farm shop and location show up correctly on the map when a visitor searches nearby.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied visitors for a Google review, because a review is what someone checks before making the drive.
  • Content that answers real questions. What's genuinely grown here, what's on this season, and what makes your farm shop different — the things people search for before they visit.
  • A monthly report you can read. What we did, what moved, and what's next — in your Client Platform, in clear, straightforward language.

We never promise rankings or a number of visitors. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

What's genuinely grown here and what's really on this weekend need to sit where a visitor looks before they drive out.

A visitor weighing up the drive and a family planning a weekend both deserve an honest account of what's own-grown and what's genuinely happening, not a generic stock photo. A template can't put the right facts in the right place. We can.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. It's built around your farm shop — what's grown here, the butchery, the café, what's on this season — and a clean, honest enquiry route, never a booking engine you don't run.

"A visitor who's never been needs to trust the 'grown here' claim is real before they make the drive."

  • 1

A clean, honest route to ask before visiting

Stock, events or opening times gathered through the form — never a promise of online booking we don't run.

  • 2

What's genuinely produced here, stated honestly

Only where you can genuinely stand behind the claim — never implied for the shop as a whole.

  • 3

This year's dates, not last year's page

PYO, pumpkins and Christmas trees kept current, so a family knows before they set off.

  • 4

Each part of the visit shown as it actually is

Never merged into one vague "farm experience" that undersells either.

Can the site say exactly which products are grown on our farm?
Yes, and we build it to say so honestly — own-grown produce told apart from anything you buy in from other local suppliers. We never blur the two together, because that's the claim visitors check first.
How much does a website for a farm shop cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Can customers order our produce or book a table online through the site?
No. The site's job is to tell the honest story of the farm and gather a clear enquiry — about stock, events, or visiting — that reaches you directly. It doesn't include online ordering, table booking or a booking engine as part of the standard plan.
We run pumpkin picking and sell Christmas trees. Can the site cover seasonal events?
Yes. Seasonal events are shown with the real dates that apply this year, not a generic "seasonal fun" page left unchanged from the last one.
How is a farm shop page different from your greengrocer or delicatessen pages?
A farm shop sells produce it grows or rears itself, alongside a butchery counter and often a café, on-site; a greengrocer buys in produce to sell; a delicatessen sells a counter and hampers built for gifting. We write to whichever one your business actually is, not a shared template.
Can the site show our Red Tractor or organic certification?
Yes, if you genuinely hold it. We never show or imply Red Tractor Assurance, organic status or Farm Retail Association membership unless you've confirmed you hold it — that's a claim we check with you directly.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
