Websites for freight forwarders

An importer needs a shipment moved and cleared through customs, without touching a single box themselves.

PrimeStart designs a website around your freight forwarding business, then hosts it, updates it and looks after it for you. Built to show an importer or exporter you can be trusted with the whole move — from £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee.

Why a website

A single shipment and an ongoing importer relationship are both decided on the same thing: can this business be trusted with the paperwork.

Nobody hands a shipment to a forwarder without knowing the customs clearance is genuinely handled. A website that hides this behind a bare contact form loses that trust to whoever states it plainly.

01

A first-time importer wants a plain explanation

What customs clearance actually involves, written for someone who has never imported before — not trade jargon that assumes knowledge they don't have.

02

A regular exporter wants one forwarder for everything

A business wanting one forwarder handling every shipment wants a route to discuss volume and ports, not the same form as a one-off consignment.

03

Modes and capability are stated honestly, not assumed

Being clear about the ports and modes you actually cover is what turns an enquiry into a trusted relationship rather than a wasted one.

04

The right trade is named clearly

Arranging the move is a different job to carrying it, and the site should say so — you are not a haulage firm with your own fleet.

Getting customers

Somebody arranging a shipment is searching right now.

"Freight forwarder near me", "customs broker UK", "sea freight forwarding Felixstowe" — different searches, different stages of a shipment. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of being found for each one.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, "freight forwarder Felixstowe", "customs broker UK" and "sea freight forwarding near me" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so your services, ports and contact details show up correctly when an importer is comparing forwarders.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review, because a review is what an importer checks before trusting a new forwarder with a shipment.
  • Content that answers real questions. What customs brokerage actually involves, and how incoterms affect a shipment — the things people search for before they're ready to commit.
  • A monthly report you can read. What we did, what moved, and what's next — in your Client Platform, in clear, straightforward language.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

Your capability and your customs work need to sit where a nervous first-time importer actually looks.

Someone importing for the first time and someone arranging their fiftieth shipment both need to trust you with paperwork before they trust you with cargo. A template can't explain customs brokerage in terms that build that trust. We can.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. It's built around an enquiry form that gathers the real shipment, modes and customs capability stated honestly, and the credibility a forwarder needs before any cargo changes hands.

"An importer isn't hiring a vehicle. They're trusting someone with the paperwork, the customs and the whole move."

  • 1

    Origin, destination, mode

Gathered through the form, so the enquiry that reaches you reflects the real shipment, not a generic message.

  • 2

What you cover, and what you don't

Your real ports and services, so an importer or exporter knows before they commit.

  • 3

Clearance in terms anyone can follow

What customs brokerage actually involves, written for someone who has never imported before.

  • 4

A form built for a regular relationship

Volume and ports asked up front, so a business wanting one forwarder for every shipment is treated as the ongoing relationship it is.

Most of our work comes from repeat importer relationships. Do we need a website?
Repeat relationships keep the desk busy until an importer changes supplier or a competitor turns up first in a search. A website is where a new importer checks who you can appoint to deal with customs on their behalf, before they hand over a shipment.
How much does a website for a freight forwarder cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Can the site track a shipment or quote a job automatically?
No. The site gathers origin, destination and mode through an enquiry form, and sends it to you — freight quoting and shipment tracking depend on carrier and customs systems the site doesn't replace.
Can the site explain customs brokerage clearly to a first-time importer?
Yes. The site sets out what customs clearance involves in terms a first-time importer can follow, without assuming trade knowledge they don't have.
We do sea, air and road freight. Can the site show all three properly?
Yes. Most businesses on this page run more than one mode, so the site sets them out separately, with the ports and routes you actually cover stated honestly.
We're a freight forwarder, not a haulier. Will the site make that clear?
Yes. Freight forwarders arrange the move rather than carry it — a different trade to haulage, which runs its own trucks, and the site is written for the trade you actually do.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
