9 questions
Who is PrimeStart?
A UK company that builds and looks after websites for small businesses on a monthly plan, rather than charging a large sum up front and leaving you with the maintenance. That is the whole idea: most small businesses were choosing between a big agency invoice and an evening spent fighting a website builder, and neither is a good option. There is more about how we work and what we hold ourselves to on the About page, and examples of the kind of sites we build on Our work.
What do I actually get for £49.99 a month?
A professional managed WordPress website, generally up to five pages, built around your business. It includes your domain name, managed hosting, a security certificate, regular backups, WordPress and plugin updates, contact and enquiry forms, the basic Google and search foundations, ongoing technical management, and reasonable small changes subject to fair use.
How many pages are included?
Generally up to five pages — typically a home page, services, about, gallery and contact. That suits most local businesses. If yours needs more, tell us and we will say honestly whether the plan fits.
Do I have to write the website wording myself?
No. You give us accurate information about your business — your services, the areas you cover and the details customers need — and we turn it into clear, professional website copy within the agreed scope.
Will it work properly on phones?
Yes. Every PrimeStart website is built to work on phones, tablets and computers, and we check it across all three before it goes live.
Can you build an online shop or a booking system?
Online shops, membership sites, marketplaces, large booking platforms, custom applications and advanced integrations sit outside the standard Website. Tell us what you need and we will say honestly whether we are the right fit, and agree any cost with you before anything begins.
What kind of business is this designed for?
Trades and small service businesses — sole traders and small companies who need a professional site of around five pages that explains what they do, shows their work and helps customers get in touch.
Is this a generic template with my logo dropped in?
No. PrimeStart builds on proven foundations rather than starting every project from a blank screen, and that is what keeps the monthly price where it is — but the structure, wording, services, photographs and enquiry route are built around your business and the way customers in your industry choose who to contact. Two PrimeStart websites for two different trades do not look or work the same.
Can I add more pages or other services later?
Need something extra later? No problem. PrimeStart customers can order additional services such as extra pages, branding and one-off optimisation through their client dashboard whenever they need them.

Industries & areas

2 questions
Do you build websites for my type of business?
Almost certainly. PrimeStart builds for 84 kinds of small business across ten categories — trades, garden and exterior work, property services, automotive, hair and beauty, health, professional services, education, pet services and hospitality. The structure, wording and enquiry route are designed around how your customers choose, not dropped onto a generic template. If your business is not on the list, ask: Website suits most local service businesses.
Do you only work with businesses in certain areas?
No. PrimeStart builds and manages websites for businesses anywhere in the UK, and the price is the same wherever you are. Your website is built around the areas you actually cover, so local customers can see straight away that you work where they live.

Pricing & terms

15 questions
Is there really a £0 upfront website design fee?
Yes. There is no separate website design or setup invoice. You pay your first £49.99 monthly payment when you sign up, then complete your onboarding, and the build begins once we confirm we have everything we need.
What do I pay on the day I sign up?
Your first monthly payment — £49.99 for Website, or £349.99 for Website + SEO. There is no separate design invoice on top of that.
Is £349.99 the total, or is the website charged on top?
It is the total. Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total and your managed website is included in that price. The £49.99 Website fee is not added on top.
What costs extra?
Nothing is added to your bill without telling you first. Work outside the plan, such as an online shop or a custom application, is agreed with you before anything begins. On Website + SEO, additional agreed search targets are £50 a month each.
Can I start with the Website and add SEO later?
Yes. Get online first, grow when you are ready — start with Website and add SEO whenever your business is ready for it.
Why is the Website agreement 18 months?
Because PrimeStart absorbs the cost of designing and building your website rather than charging you for it upfront. The 18-month minimum is what makes the £49.99 monthly price possible.
What does the minimum term cost in total?
18 monthly payments of £49.99, which is £899.82 across the minimum term. There is no separate design or setup invoice on top of that.
What happens after month 18?
The website is yours. You can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis — no new minimum term — with hosting, security, backups, updates and support continuing exactly as before, or you can arrange your own hosting and move the website elsewhere.
Do I own my website?
Once you have completed the 18-month minimum term and made the payments due under it, you are entitled to the completed website and your own content, and you can arrange for it to be hosted elsewhere. As with any website, that is subject to the terms of the third-party software and licences it relies on, such as WordPress, plugins, fonts and any stock photography. Nothing stops you moving on after the term.
Why does SEO have a 6-month minimum?
Search visibility takes time to build, measure and improve. Six months gives the work a sensible minimum period to establish the foundations, make improvements and gather useful data.
What are my options after the first six months of SEO?
You can continue with Website + SEO at £349.99 a month, or stop the SEO element and continue Website at £49.99 a month for the remainder of the Website's 18-month term. Every month you spend on SEO counts towards that 18 months as well, so taking SEO never adds a second Website term.
What if something goes wrong before the site launches?
You see the first draft and can request reasonable in-scope revisions. If there is a genuine problem and, after reasonable attempts, PrimeStart cannot deliver what was agreed within scope, PrimeStart may cancel the Website agreement and refund the Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs. This applies before you approve the site for launch. Full detail sits in the Website Subscription Terms.
How is the monthly payment taken?
As a monthly subscription, starting with your first payment at signup. Your billing account covers billing only — it is not a WordPress login.
What happens if a payment fails?
We will contact you to sort it out. If a website is ever suspended it shows a neutral message — we never display payment or debt information on a customer's website.
Can I speak to someone before signing up?
Of course. Call, email, or ask for a callback and we will ring you. Plenty of customers want a conversation first, and that is completely fine.

Building & launch

6 questions
What happens immediately after I sign up?
Your first monthly payment is taken, then you go straight into onboarding — a short form about your business. Once we have everything essential and confirm your project is Ready to Build, the first-draft target starts.
What is "Ready to Build"?
It is the point where PrimeStart confirms it has the information, assets and access needed to build the agreed website. It matters because the five-working-day first-draft target starts there, not at payment.
How quickly will I see my first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once your project is confirmed Ready to Build. Missing information, missing photos or logos, delayed feedback, extra revisions, out-of-scope requests and third-party or DNS delays can extend that.
What information do I need to provide?
A short onboarding form: what your business does, your main services, the areas you cover and your contact details. Your logo and photos too, if you have them.
What if I do not have a logo or good photos?
Send what you have and we will advise what is usable, or discuss the options. It should not stop you getting started.
Does my website go live automatically?
No. Nothing is published until you have reviewed the site and explicitly approved it for launch.

Support & management

8 questions
Is my website built on WordPress?
Yes. PrimeStart websites are built on WordPress rather than a basic closed website builder, which gives us far more control over the design, structure, search foundations and future development of your site.
Do I need to learn WordPress?
No. PrimeStart is a fully managed service — we handle the technical side. You do not need to learn WordPress, maintain plugins, arrange hosting or troubleshoot anything.
Can I log into WordPress myself?
Customers do not normally receive WordPress admin access. That is the point of the plan: you tell us what you would like changed and we make the change for you, so there is nothing technical for you to learn or maintain.
Who looks after hosting, security and updates?
PrimeStart does, as part of your monthly price — managed hosting, the security certificate, regular backups, WordPress and plugin updates and ongoing technical maintenance.
Can I request changes before the site launches?
Yes. You review the first draft and can request reasonable revisions within the agreed scope. If something falls outside that scope we will explain it and agree it with you before doing the work.
Can I change things after the website launches?
Yes. Reasonable small changes are included, subject to fair use — opening hours, contact details, photos, prices and basic service information. Larger work, such as new pages or new functionality, is agreed with you before it begins.
How do I ask for a change?
Send us a message from your Client Platform, or by phone or email. There is no software to work out — you describe the change and we make it.
How do I get support?
Through your Client Platform, by phone and by email. PrimeStart looks after the website for you, so support covers the technical side as well as content changes.

SEO

14 questions
Can I buy SEO without a PrimeStart website?
No. SEO is only available as part of Website + SEO, which includes your managed PrimeStart website — there is no separate SEO-only plan to buy against a site hosted elsewhere.
On Website + SEO, who makes the changes to my website?
PrimeStart does. Website + SEO includes your managed website, so the same team that looks after the site makes the search-related changes directly — there is nothing for you to arrange with a separate developer.
What is Website + SEO?
Your managed PrimeStart website plus ongoing monthly work to improve how easily customers find your business on Google. It is £349.99 a month in total with the website included.
What are the three priority Google searches?
Usually a service and a place, such as "gardener Muswell Hill". We research your market, recommend three that make commercial sense, and agree them with you before any work starts.
Do you only work on those three exact searches?
No. The three agreed searches give the work a clear commercial focus and something meaningful to monitor. The work we do on your website, Google Business Profile and local presence can also support closely related searches and variations — we simply do not promise rankings for every one of them.
Can I add more search targets?
Yes. Additional agreed service or location search targets are £50 a month each. We will tell you honestly whether we think another target is worth adding.
Do you work on my Google Business Profile?
Yes, where your business is eligible. It is a standard part of the local SEO work — setup where needed, categories and services, consistent business information, photo guidance and ongoing monitoring. It is subject to Google verification and platform policies, and to us receiving the access and information required.
Does SEO include Google Ads?
No. SEO is about your website and your presence in the ordinary, unpaid search results and local listings. Google Ads is paid advertising with its own costs, including whatever you spend with Google, and it is not part of the SEO work.
What do I get each month?
The ongoing work itself, plus a short monthly report in everyday language: what we did, how your priority searches are being monitored, and what we are planning next.
Do Website + SEO customers get anything else?
Website + SEO customers also receive preferential pricing on eligible additional services. Beyond that, SEO is the monthly work itself: three agreed searches, your Google Business Profile, your local listings, your website and a clear monthly report.
Can you guarantee I will be number one on Google?
No, and no provider can control or guarantee a specific position. Positions vary because of competition, location, Google's own systems and factors outside anyone's control. What we commit to is doing the agreed work every month, monitoring what happens and making evidence-led improvements.
How long does SEO take to work?
There is no single answer. It depends on your market, how competitive your area is, where you are starting from and your website's history. SEO has a six-month minimum because meaningful search work needs time to establish and time to judge.
What is SEO actually trying to achieve?
More opportunities for suitable local customers to discover your business, and a stronger route from search to enquiry. Rankings are a means to that, not the end goal in themselves.
Does the £49.99 Website include monthly SEO work?
No. Website includes the technical Google foundations built into every site — structure, titles and descriptions, indexability, speed. Ongoing monthly work to improve how customers find you is part of Website + SEO, at £349.99 a month total with the website included.
