Web design for massage therapists and wellness studios

Nervous first-time clients need calm, not persuasion.

Somebody booking a massage for the first time is worrying about things they will not say out loud: what they have to take off, whether the room will be cold, whether it will hurt, whether they will be judged. A website that answers those quietly does more than any amount of marketing language, and it is the difference between a booking and a closed tab. We build it that way, host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Massage therapist working on a client's back in a warm, softly lit treatment room

Your first visit

The questions people are too embarrassed to ask.

Every therapist knows these are the real barriers, and almost no website answers them. Written down calmly, they turn somebody who has been thinking about it for a year into somebody with an appointment on Thursday.

  1. 01

What do I have to take off?

Say it plainly. Underwear stays on, you are covered with towels throughout, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. This one sentence removes the biggest single hesitation there is.

  2. 02

    Will it hurt?

Deep tissue work can be uncomfortable and should never be unbearable, and the client can say stop at any point. Being honest about this builds far more trust than promising it will be relaxing.

  3. 03

    Do I have to talk?

A surprising number of people avoid booking because they dread the small talk. Saying that quiet is completely fine is genuinely reassuring.

  4. 04

What if I have not shaved my legs?

Trivial to you, a real barrier to somebody else. A light, kind sentence about it doing exactly no harm makes the whole site feel human.

  5. 05

    How will I feel afterwards?

Possibly a bit tender the next day, drink water, do not book a heavy session straight after. Practical aftercare, without any claims about what the treatment does.

This page is usually the most read on a therapist's website after the price list, and it is almost never written. It costs nothing and it converts.

Treatments

Length first, then price.

Massage is bought in blocks of time, so the duration is the primary thing somebody is choosing. Leading with sixty or ninety minutes, then the price, matches how the decision is made.

  • Say what a session actually involves

Whether the time includes the consultation, whether you work full body or by area. It is the detail that separates a professional from a spa menu.

  • Blocks and courses, if you offer them

Regular clients are the whole economics of this trade. If a block of five is better value, say so plainly rather than hiding it for the second visit.

  • Your cancellation policy, kindly worded

Necessary, and it can be written warmly. A late cancellation is an hour nobody can sell, and clients understand that when it is explained.

Prices shown are the example therapist's illustrative rates. Yours are your own, and we change them whenever you want.

Booking

Let people book without having to speak to anybody.

A meaningful share of your clients would rather do almost anything than make a phone call about their own body. A request form removes that barrier entirely, and it is available at the hour when people actually decide to look after themselves.

  • Send the consultation form in advance

It saves ten minutes of the appointment and it means somebody with a condition you need to know about has told you before they are on the table.

  • Ask what they want worked on

"Shoulders and neck, sitting at a desk all day" tells you more than the treatment name and lets you plan the hour properly.

  • Offer early and late slots visibly

Before work and after work are when working clients can actually come. Showing those slots is often the whole reason somebody chooses you.

Careful wording

What a massage website should not say.

This is a field where overclaiming is common and genuinely risky. Careful wording protects you, keeps you the right side of advertising rules, and reads as more professional than the studio promising to cure things.

  • Describe the treatment, not the cure

What happens in the session, at what pressure, on which areas. Not what conditions it treats or resolves.

  • Avoid medical claims entirely

No claims to treat, heal or cure injuries, illnesses or conditions. Where a client has a medical issue, the site points them to their GP or a healthcare professional.

  • Be careful with "detox" and similar

Claims about removing toxins, boosting immunity or improving circulation are the ones that attract complaints. They add nothing and they cost you credibility.

  • Say when massage is not appropriate

Certain conditions, recent injuries and stages of pregnancy need medical agreement first. Listing them shows judgement rather than turning work away.

  • Never use client photographs or stories without consent

Written permission, every time, and no identifying detail. Testimonials must be genuine and attributable.

On wording

We write your treatments factually and keep clear of health claims. If you hold a clinical qualification and want to describe your scope of practice, we present exactly the wording you and your professional body are comfortable with.

Where clients come from

A full diary is about twenty-five people who come back.

That is the number worth holding on to. A therapist working alone does not need hundreds of clients; they need a couple of dozen who return every three or four weeks, plus enough new enquiries to replace the ones whose circumstances change. It makes the economics of being findable locally very favourable, because a handful of good clients a year is genuinely all it takes.

It also shapes what the site should say. Somebody choosing a therapist to see regularly is choosing a person and a room as much as a treatment, so the parts that describe what the space is like, how you work and what a first visit involves are doing more selling than any list of modalities ever could.

Your site plan

Five pages, and one of them is pure reassurance.

Treatments, prices, what a first visit is like, who you are, and how to book. A therapist's site does not need more than that, and calm beats clever.

More about the Client Platform

SEO

Three searches, and one client can become fortnightly.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. A single-therapist practice does not need many new clients; it needs the right ones, regularly.

  • £349.99/monthTotal. The website is included: the £49.99 Website is not added on top.
  • 3 searchesAgreed with you at the start. Additional agreed search targets are £50/month each.
  • Monthly workSearch and competitor research, website improvements, Google Business Profile work, local listings, technical monitoring and a clear monthly report in your Client Platform.
  • 6-month minimumAfter the SEO minimum you can continue, or stop the SEO work and keep the Website for the rest of its 18-month term. Every month of it counts towards both.
What we don’t promise

This is an illustration of a results page, not a promise of a position. Nobody can guarantee where a website appears on Google, and we do not.

Three example searches

  1. massage Bath
  2. sports massage Bath
  3. deep tissue massage Bath

For a therapist working alone, a full diary is often only twenty to thirty regular clients. That makes small, specific searches far more valuable than broad ones. We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts. Additional agreed searches are +£50 a month each.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

The plans

The same therapy website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A massage therapist's website that is calm, specific and answers the questions people will not ask out loud.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed local searches, which for a solo practice can be a full diary. How SEO works

How it works

Your part takes less time than one appointment.

Choose a plan, send us your treatments and your training, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

    Tell us about your practice

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: your treatments, durations and prices, your qualifications and insurance, your room and hours, and where bookings should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a treatment description or a policy needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone and a laptop: the treatments, the first-visit page, and the booking request.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions therapists ask us

How much does a website for a massage therapist cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Can the site say my treatments help with back pain?
We would keep away from that wording. Health claims in advertising are regulated and this is an area where complaints are common, so we describe what the treatment involves — the pressure, the areas, the session — rather than what it treats. It also reads as more professional than the sites promising to fix things.
I work alone from one room. Is a website overkill?
It is arguably more useful to you than to a large studio, because your entire diary might be twenty-five regular clients. Being findable locally, having prices and durations visible, and letting people book without ringing is usually enough to keep that diary full.
Can clients fill in the health questionnaire online?
We can send them to a form to complete before the appointment, and we would keep it separate from the booking request and away from anything unnecessary. Health information needs handling carefully, so we keep what the website collects to a minimum and let your own consultation form do the detailed part.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. For a solo practice a handful of new regular clients can fill the diary. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of bookings, and we do not.
