Web design in Bickley

Bickley was built as a Victorian estate, not a high street. A website here has to work the way the area itself does.

Bickley's name is recorded as early as 1279, but the area as it stands was laid out from the 1860s, when George Wythes developed the Bickley Park estate of large houses for merchants and bankers around Bickley station, which opened in 1858. It has stayed predominantly residential, with a small parade near the station rather than a proper high street. We build the website that suits that — well found online, honest about a quiet area — for £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee, and we can work on your search visibility too.

Why a website

Bickley has no high street of its own. A website has to do the work that shop passing-trade would do elsewhere.

With trade centred on one small parade near the station, a business serving Bickley wins customers online or by reputation, not by a shopfront on a busy road. The site has to carry that weight honestly.

01

They check a Bickley business looks properly established

A proper website with your name, your work and where you cover says you're a settled business serving Bickley, not a name found by chance.

02

They want to know you actually cover Bickley

With Bromley town centre and Chislehurst both close by, saying plainly that you work Bickley itself — or the wider area around it — saves a wasted enquiry either way.

03

They want to see the finished work

Photographs of work finished on the roads and gardens around Bickley Park do more to win trust than a general claim to cover south-east London.

04

They want to enquire without a wasted first call

An enquiry form that reaches your phone catches the evening decision — someone comparing a couple of local businesses after work.

Bickley

A hunting lodge became a manor house, then a Victorian estate of large houses and gardens.

Bickley's shape today comes almost entirely from one Victorian developer's decisions, not from centuries of organic high-street growth — which is exactly why it looks and trades the way it does.

Bickley Park takes shape

Some of the era's leading architects design homes for merchants and bankers, set in gardens of two to five acres — the character that still defines Bickley today.

What that means for a business here today

No high street, and that's honest.

Bickley was built as an estate of large houses, not a trading street — a business serving Bickley relies on being found online, not on passing footfall.

Larger gardens and properties.

The two-to-five-acre plots George Wythes laid out mean trades like gardening and property services find genuinely larger jobs here than the borough average.

A small parade, a defined area.

Bickley station and Southborough Lane give the area a modest trading centre of its own, even though most business here is done by reputation and search rather than a shopfront. The council's own Bickley station record confirms it as a genuine local landmark rather than just a stop on the line.

Getting found locally

Without a high street, being found online matters more here, not less.

"Gardener bickley", "landscaper br1", "letting agent bickley station" — searches that name the area directly, because there is no passing trade to fall back on. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of making sure that search finds you.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, "gardener bickley", "landscaper br1" and "letting agent bickley station" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current so you appear on the map for Bickley, with your hours, your work and a way to reach you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review once a job is done — often the deciding factor when there's no shopfront to walk past.
  • Pages for the area you actually trade in. Bickley itself, or Bickley alongside Bromley town centre and Chislehurst — written properly, not one page for the whole borough.
  • A monthly report you can read. A straightforward account each month of what changed and what's next, in your Client Platform.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found locally — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

A business serving Bickley needs a site that carries the weight a shopfront can't. Web design in Bickley has to earn that.

Bickley was built as an estate, one substantial house at a time, and a business here deserves a site with the same steadiness — not a generic template with the postcode swapped in.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. Built with the same care George Wythes's architects brought to Bickley Park in the 1860s.

“Bickley has no high street to lean on. A website here has to do the introducing that a shopfront would do somewhere else.”

Request a call
Do you work with businesses based in Bickley?
Yes, around Bickley station, Southborough Lane and the wider Bickley Park estate, including businesses that also serve Bromley town centre and Chislehurst. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
Bickley doesn't have much of a high street. Is a website still worth it?
Yes, honestly more so — Bickley is mostly large houses and gardens rather than passing shop trade, so a business here relies on being found online rather than on people walking past. We say that plainly rather than inventing a shopping street that doesn't exist.
How much does a website cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
Should the site just say "Bromley" instead of Bickley?
Only if that's honestly where you trade or want to be found. Bickley is a distinct, well-known residential area — naming it properly, alongside Bromley if you genuinely cover both, is worth more than a generic borough-wide claim.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
