Web design for interior designers
Your website is judged the way a room is judged.
A prospective client cannot assess your space planning or your sourcing. What they can assess, instantly and unfairly, is whether your own website looks like it was put together by somebody with an eye. In this profession the site is not a description of the work, it is a sample of it, and a cramped stock theme undoes an excellent portfolio before anybody reads a word. We build it properly, host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.
- Per month: £49.99
- Upfront website design fee: £0

The work
Rooms photographed as they are lived in, not as they were staged.
Every designer's website has beautiful empty rooms. The ones that convert show the room working: a table laid, a book down, light at the time of day the client actually uses the space. It reads as a real project rather than a shoot.

Photographs here are illustrative. Your own projects replace them, presented at the size the work deserves.
How it works
Five stages, so nobody has to ask what happens next.
Interior design is bought by people who have never bought it before. The stages are obvious to you and completely opaque to them, and the practice that explains them is the one that feels safe to commission.
- 1
Consultation
A visit, a conversation and an honest view of what the space could be. Paid or free, but said clearly on the page either way.
- 2
Concept
The direction: layouts, palette, materials and the mood of the thing, presented properly rather than as a folder of links.
- 3
Detailed design
Drawings, elevations, joinery details and the specification, developed to the point where a builder or maker can price it.
- 4
Sourcing and procurement
Finding, specifying and ordering everything, and being straight about how that is charged. This is the stage clients understand least.
- 5
Installation and styling
Delivery, fitting, snagging and the day it is put together. The part clients look forward to and the part that makes the photographs.
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.
You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.
The enquiry
Ask for the room and the timescale, not a life story.
A long enquiry form filters out exactly the wrong people: the busy ones with budgets. Five short questions tell you whether a project fits the studio, and leave the rest for the consultation.
- Timescale tells you more than budget
Somebody whose building work finishes in spring is a real project. Somebody with no date is browsing, and the form separates them without asking anything awkward.
- Ask who else is involved
An architect already appointed changes the conversation completely, and knowing before the consultation saves an hour of working it out.
- Leave budget for the conversation
Asked cold on a form it either frightens people off or produces a number they invented. It belongs in the consultation, where it can be discussed properly.
If you prefer people to email or ring, that stays prominent. The form is for the ones who would otherwise close the tab.
The fee conversation
Be straight about procurement, because everyone else is vague.
Clients have usually heard that designers make money on the furniture and are unsure how it works. That uncertainty is the single biggest brake on commissioning somebody, and almost every studio website avoids the subject entirely, which makes it worse. Explaining your fee basis plainly — a design fee, and how sourcing and procurement are handled — removes the doubt and makes the first meeting far easier.
It works locally too. Somebody in Oxford searching for an interior designer is not going to commission a studio three counties away for a project that needs site visits every fortnight, so the towns you work in are worth naming properly rather than leaving to a contact page.

Your site plan
Five pages, and the projects need room to breathe.
The commonest mistake on a design website is cramming. Fewer projects, larger images and generous space read as confidence; a dense grid reads as a portfolio site from 2014.

The logic of SEO
Referrals bring you one kind of client. Search brings another.
Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. Most studios grow on word of mouth, which is wonderful until it plateaus, because referrals only ever reach one circle.
The kind of searches SEO works on
- interior designer Oxford
- interior design service Oxford
- kitchen and living room design Oxford
£349.99/month total, website included. SEO never promises a position, a number of enquiries or a revenue figure. It promises the work, every month.
Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.
- 1
A website that is itself a sample
In this profession the site is evidence. Typography, spacing and image quality are read as design judgement, whether or not anybody says so out loud.
- 2
Found by the people already looking
The SEO work is monthly work on the local searches, your Google Business Profile and the listings that decide who appears when somebody near you types interior designer near me.
- 3
Reaching outside the circle
Referrals come from people who already know somebody who used you. Search reaches the family two streets away who have just finished an extension and have no idea where to start.
- 4
A site that earns a consultation
Nobody commissions a whole house from a web page. Every part of the site exists to make the first meeting feel like the sensible next step.
We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts.
Your Client Platform
Add a project the week the photographs come back.
Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform. It is where the project lives: the stage it has reached, what we are waiting on, the draft to look through, and the button that says you are happy with it.
- Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
- Send project photographs straight from your phone or your photographer
- Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
- Preview the draft on a laptop and a phone, and mark up changes
- Approve the website before anything goes live
- Ask for changes afterwards, and order services when you need them
- See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)
There is nothing technical to learn. One login to your Client Platform, and you never have to open WordPress.

The plans
The same design studio website, with or without the monthly SEO work.
The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.
An interior design website that reads as evidence of your eye, with projects given room and the fee basis explained.
Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.
Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.
