Web design in Belvedere

Belvedere grew up on the Thames next to Erith, named after a Victorian viewing tower. Web design here has to speak to both the riverside and the streets above it.

Belvedere, DA17, developed out of Lessness Heath in the 19th century, taking its name from a wooden tower Sir Culling Eardley built on his estate to view the Thames. It formed part of the Municipal Borough of Erith until 1965, and the riverside brought heavy industry, including two gunpowder factories destroyed in an 1864 explosion, and severe flooding across Belvedere Marshes in 1953. Today it sits beside Erith and close to the Elizabeth line at Abbey Wood. We build the website that speaks to both the riverside and the residential streets, for £79.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee, and we can work on your search visibility too.

Why a website

Belvedere is really two places either side of the same postcode — a website has to know which one is searching.

The riverside near Erith and Upper Belvedere's Victorian streets have grown differently, so a business here is often explaining which side it actually trades on.

01

A riverside enquiry drawn by change

Someone near the river or the Elizabeth line at Abbey Wood usually has less existing local knowledge, and searches generically for the most current, complete result.

02

An Upper Belvedere resident checks a name

Further from the river, among the Victorian and Edwardian terraces, a search is more often confirming a name already known.

03

They want to know if you cover Erith too

Belvedere and Erith shared a municipal borough until 1965 and still sit side by side, so saying plainly whether you cover both avoids a wasted enquiry.

04

They want to see recent, comparable work

With the riverside changing fastest, photographs of recent, comparable jobs reassure far more than a general claim to serve Belvedere.

Belvedere

A name borrowed from a Victorian viewing tower, a riverside history of gunpowder and flooding, and Erith right next door.

Belvedere takes its name from a wooden tower built to admire a view of the Thames — the river it looked out on shaped almost everything that happened here afterwards.

Belvedere grows from Lessness Heath

Sir Culling Eardley builds properties here, including a large wooden tower giving views to the Thames — belvedere, Italian for 'beautiful view', becomes the area's name.

1859

Belvedere station opens

The station opens on the North Kent Line, running toward Dartford, Gravesend and Gillingham.

1864

A gunpowder explosion is heard for miles

Two commercial gunpowder factories on the riverside are destroyed in an explosion reportedly heard over a fifty-mile radius.

1953

The North Sea Flood devastates the Marshes

Belvedere Marshes are badly hit by the 1953 North Sea Flood, part of the wider east-coast flooding of that year.

1965

Belvedere joins the new London Borough of Bexley

Previously part of the Municipal Borough of Erith, Belvedere is brought into the new London Borough of Bexley.

What it means for a business trading here today

Two Belvederes, not one.

The riverside and industrial edge near Erith, and Upper Belvedere's Victorian residential streets further up the hill, search differently. A site that says which one it's in reads as accurate.

A close, real link to Erith.

The two shared a municipal borough until 1965 and still sit side by side, so many residents search the two names almost interchangeably.

Close to the Elizabeth line, without being on it.

Belvedere sits near enough to Abbey Wood's Elizabeth line terminus to benefit from the change it has brought, without the direct station access itself.

Getting found locally

A riverside search and an Upper Belvedere search are not the same search.

"Letting agent belvedere", "builder da17", "removal company erith" — each is often a different kind of customer. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of making sure the right search finds you.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, "letting agent belvedere", "builder da17" and "removal company erith" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current so you appear on the map for Belvedere, with your hours, your work and a way to reach you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review once a job completes — read closely by someone new to the riverside and unsure who to trust.
  • Pages for the side you actually trade on. The riverside and Erith side, or Upper Belvedere's residential streets — written properly for each, not one page treating Belvedere as a single block.
  • A monthly report you can read. A straightforward account each month of what changed and what's next, written the way you'd explain a job to a client — in your Client Platform.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found locally — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

A riverside letting agent sells to newcomers. An Upper Belvedere trade proves years of local work. Web design in Belvedere has to do both.

A letting agent near the river, a removal company serving new Erith-side arrivals, and a longer-established trade in Upper Belvedere all need a completely different website to do their job properly. A template can't tell the difference. We can.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. Built with the same care whichever side of Belvedere you trade on.

“The riverside sells to people who've just arrived. Upper Belvedere sells to people who've been here for years. Same postcode, completely different website.”

Pages for the side you actually trade on

The riverside and Erith side, or Upper Belvedere's Victorian streets — each written for the search a customer genuinely runs.

  • 2

Your work, shown the way it's searched for

Recent, comparable project photography, structured so a newcomer can judge your standard before they ever pick up the phone.

  • 3

Your reviews, where people look for them

Genuine Google reviews shown on the site, because someone new to the riverside checks reviews before they trust a name they've never heard.

  • 4

An enquiry form that asks the right questions

Which side of Belvedere, the property or the job, and timing — so you can quote properly without a wasted first visit.

Request a call
Do you work with businesses based in Belvedere?
Yes, on the riverside near Erith and further up in Upper Belvedere's residential streets, plus the SE2 postcode overlap near Abbey Wood. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
Is Belvedere the same as Erith?
No, though the two were part of the same Municipal Borough of Erith before 1965 and sit directly side by side. We keep them distinct on your site unless your business genuinely covers both. Bexley Council's own Discover Bexley pages cover the wider borough Belvedere sits in.
How much does a website cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £79.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £815.90 paid once. Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £2,192.90 paid upfront. After the first 12 months, the service continues automatically at £49.99 a month with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
Does the website need to mention the gunpowder explosion or the 1953 flood?
Only if it helps a customer find you — a line about Belvedere's riverside history can be useful context, but we won't pad the page with history nobody searched for. The commercial content about your business always comes first.
Can the site show our trade body membership and insurance clearly?
Yes, and it's worth doing properly for customers who are new to the area and don't yet know who to trust. Trade body membership, public liability insurance and any accreditations you hold are set out as normal content, using the wording and any logos you're entitled to use.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
