Web design for tree surgeons

Nobody lets an unknown climber near the house.

A tree job is a chainsaw twelve metres up, over somebody's roof, their neighbour's conservatory and a car. The customer cannot judge your rigging, so they judge everything else: your insurance, your tickets, how fast you answer and whether the last job looks tidy. We build the site around exactly that, then host it and look after it, with a £0 upfront website design fee.

  • Per month: £49.99
  • Upfront website design fee: £0

Two kinds of call

A branch on the roof and a crown reduction are not the same enquiry.

One customer is standing in the rain at seven in the morning. The other has been meaning to sort the lime out since last autumn. They want opposite things from a website, and a page that treats them the same loses both.

Today
Storm damage and emergencies

A limb has come down, a tree is leaning on a fence or the wind has split a stem. They will ring the first firm that looks capable and answers. Nothing else on the page matters as much as your number and the words that say you come out.

  • Your number at the top of every page, tappable
  • Whether you attend out of hours, honestly stated
  • Insurance level visible without hunting for it
  • What to do before you arrive, and what not to touch
This season
Planned tree work

Reductions, thinning, deadwooding and felling, usually booked weeks ahead and often needing council paperwork first. This customer is comparing three quotes and reading carefully, so the site has room to explain.

  • The work explained in the words arborists actually use
  • TPO and conservation area notice handled by you
  • Photographs of finished work, not just the climb
  • A form that asks for a photo of the tree

The site carries both, in that order: the emergency route stays one tap away, and the planned work gets the space it needs to be understood.

Credentials

In this trade, the paperwork is the product.

Anybody can buy a chainsaw. What separates you from the two lads with a pickup is a certificate, an insurance schedule and a waste carrier licence, and the customer knows it. Most tree surgery websites bury all three. Yours puts them where the decision is made.

We display exactly what you hold and nothing beyond it: no borrowed badges, no invented ratings, no claims about how long you have been trading.

  • Public liability insurance, with the level you carry
  • Employers' liability insurance if you have a team
  • NPTC or City & Guilds chainsaw units, including aerial cutting and aerial rescue
  • Arboricultural Association ApprovedContractor status
  • LANTRA awards and first aid at work, including forestry first aid
  • Waste carrier registration with the Environment Agency
  • Reviews wherever they already live: Google, Checkatrade, Trustpilot

The work

Say what the work is, in the words you would use on site.

Customers search for "tree cutting" and "tree removal" because that is the language they have. Arborists write "crown reduction" and "dismantling". Your site needs both, or you are invisible to half the people looking for you.

  1. 01

    Crown reduction

Taking the overall size back while keeping the shape, usually because a tree has outgrown the garden or is darkening the house.

    Crown work
  2. 02

    Crown thinning and lifting

Letting light through, or raising the canopy clear of a roof, a drive or a footpath, without changing the outline.

    Crown work
  3. 03

    Deadwooding

Removing dead limbs before they come down on their own. The cheapest job on this list and the one that prevents the expensive one.

    Crown work
  4. 04

    Felling

Straight fell where there is room to drop it, which on most domestic sites there is not.

    Removals
  5. 05

    Sectional dismantling

Taking a tree down in pieces over a roof, a greenhouse or a boundary. This is the job the photographs should show.

    Removals
  6. 06

    Stump grinding

Ground out below surface so the ground can be re-turfed or replanted, with the arisings removed or left as mulch.

    Removals
  7. 07

    Emergency and storm damage

Windblown trees, hung-up limbs and split stems made safe. Priced on attendance, explained before you set off.

    Storm and hedges
  8. 08

    Large hedge reduction

Leylandii and boundary hedges taken back hard, with the waste chipped and removed rather than left in a pile.

    Storm and hedges

Anything you do not take on comes off the site. If you do not climb, or do not do stumps, nobody rings you for it.

Where you go

Distance decides whether a job is worth the chipper.

Moving a team, a chipper and a truck is expensive before a single cut is made, so the radius matters more in tree work than almost any other trade. Your site says where you go, and the enquiries arrive already inside it.

  • The chipper sets the radius

A twenty-minute tow each way is an hour of the day gone before anybody climbs. Saying where you cover honestly is cheaper than turning work down later.

  • Storm work travels further

Emergency calls justify a longer run because the work is priced on attendance. The site can say so, so the far-out customer still rings when it matters.

  • Councils and grounds work

If you take on schools, estates or council contracts, that is a different page and a different radius, and it belongs beside the domestic work rather than hidden in it.

Nearest first, then the towns you will travel to for a full day's work.

Your site plan

Five pages, with the emergency route never more than one tap away.

Somebody with a tree on the garage does not scroll. Somebody planning a reduction reads everything. The plan keeps both routes short.

More about the Client Platform

Illustration of the Client Platform for a fictional tree surgeons business. SEO reporting is included with Website + SEO.

SEO

Three searches, and one of them pays for the rest.

Website + SEO is optional monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you. In tree work the searches split cleanly between the job people plan and the job they panic about.

  • £349.99/monthTotal. The website is included: the £49.99 Website is not added on top.
  • 3 searchesAgreed with you at the start. Additional agreed search targets are £50/month each.
  • Monthly workSearch and competitor research, website improvements, Google Business Profile work, local listings, technical monitoring and a clear monthly report in your Client Platform.
  • 6-month minimumAfter the SEO minimum you can continue, or stop the SEO work and keep the Website for the rest of its 18-month term. Every month of it counts towards both.
What we don’t promise

Nobody can promise a position on Google, and we do not. What we commit to is the agreed work every month, tracking what happens, and changing course when the evidence says to.

  1. tree surgeon near me
  2. tree removal near me
  3. stump grinding near me

We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts. Additional agreed searches are +£50 a month each.

Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.

The plans

The same tree surgery website, with or without the monthly SEO work.

The Website is the whole thing: designed, built, hosted, managed and kept current, with your domain name included. Website + SEO adds monthly work on how easily local customers find it. Clear pricing. Straightforward terms. No surprises.

A tree surgeon's website built around credentials, an emergency route and work explained in both languages.

Designers usually charge for the build before the website exists. We absorb that cost and recover it through the monthly service, which is why the plan carries a minimum term, and why there is nothing to pay up front beyond the first month.

Complete the term and the website is yours: stay with us on a rolling basis with no new minimum, or move it to hosting of your own.

Want PrimeStart working on how customers find you? Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, with the same website included. The same managed website, plus monthly work on three agreed local searches: the planned work, the removals or the stumps. How SEO works

How it works

Your part takes less time than kitting up.

Choose a plan, send us the photographs already on your phone and a few facts about the business, then tell us what to change on the draft. We do the rest.

See the full process, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose your plan

Website, or Website + SEO. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first monthly payment is taken at signup.

  2. 2

Send us the tickets and the photos

A short onboarding in your Client Platform: the work you take on, your certificates and insurance level, the towns you cover, photographs, and where enquiries should land.

  3. 3

    Ready to Build

We check we have what we need. If a certificate is missing or a service needs a decision, we say exactly which, and get on with the rest.

  4. 4

    First draft

A working draft on a phone and a laptop, with your own work in it and the emergency route already in place.

  5. 5

    Approve and launch

Reasonable in-scope changes, then you approve it. Nothing is published until you say so.

Timing, stated properly

We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment alone doesn’t start the clock; missing details, revisions or domain delays can extend it.

Before you approve

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.

Questions tree surgeons ask us

How much does a website for a tree surgeon cost?
£49.99 a month. The upfront website design fee is £0 and your first £49.99 payment is taken at signup. The Website runs on an 18-month minimum term: 18 monthly payments of £49.99, or £899.82 in total. That covers the design and build, managed hosting, your domain name, SSL, security, backups, WordPress and plugin updates, enquiry forms, basic Google foundations, reasonable small changes subject to fair use, and your Client Platform.
What happens at the end of the 18 months?
The website is yours. Once the minimum term is complete and the payments due under it have been made, you can stay with PrimeStart at £49.99 a month on a rolling basis with no new minimum term, or move the website elsewhere and arrange your own hosting. Transfer is subject to the relevant third-party licences, which we explain at the time.
Is the domain name included?
Yes. Your domain name is included in the Website and managed by PrimeStart alongside the hosting and the SSL certificate. If you already own one, we work with the domain you have.
Can the site show my chainsaw tickets and insurance?
Yes, and it should. You tell us during onboarding exactly what you hold — units, awards, memberships and your insurance level — and we display those and nothing else. We never add a badge you have not earned or state a figure you have not given us.
Can it explain TPOs and conservation areas?
Yes. A short, accurate page explaining that trees can be protected and that consent or notice may be needed before work starts is one of the most useful things on a tree surgeon's site. We write it factually and leave the application itself as something you and the customer sort out with the council.
I get most work from storm callouts. Does a website help?
That is exactly where it helps. Storm work is the most competitive search there is, because everyone rings whoever appears first and answers. A fast page with a tappable number, your insurance level and the words that say you attend is worth more in one windy week than most of the rest of the year.
How quickly will I see a first draft?
We aim to have your first website draft ready within 5 working days once PrimeStart has everything needed and confirms your project is Ready to Build. Payment and onboarding alone do not start that period. Nothing is published until you have reviewed and approved it.
What is SEO, and do I need it to start?
SEO is optional ongoing work on your visibility for three agreed local searches, at £349.99 a month in total with the Website included: the £49.99 is not charged on top. The SEO work has a 6-month minimum, and every month of it also counts towards the 18-month Website term. You do not need it to start, and plenty of tree surgeons begin with the Website and take SEO up later. Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of enquiries, and we do not.
