Web design for gardeners
Web design for gardeners: websites won on photographs and a postcode.
Two questions decide whether somebody rings you: does their garden look like the ones in your pictures, and do you come down their road? Everything else is detail. We design the site around the work you take on, the towns on your round and the seasons that change what people search for, then host it and look after it for £49.99 a month, with a £0 upfront website design fee.
- Per month: £49.99
- Upfront website design fee: £0

How a gardener is chosen
Nobody books a gardener from a description of a garden.
A customer choosing a gardener is choosing somebody to trust with a gate code and a key for years, or somebody to rescue a garden before the house goes on the market on Friday. Either way they decide on two things: whether the gardens in your photographs look like theirs, and whether you come down their road.
The website is where both questions get answered before you know the enquiry exists. A page with your own before-and-after pairs, the villages you cover written out, and one short form that asks for a postcode and a photograph does the first conversation for you.
The same business three ways: a listing on a directory, an out-of-date website, and a PrimeStart website with services, areas and a clear way to get in touch.
The year
What people search for in March is not what they search for in October.
A gardening business has four different businesses inside it, and they arrive in order. A website that says the same thing in every month is only ever right by accident. Yours leads with the work that is actually due, and we move it round with the season.

The lawn panic, and the start of the round
The grass gets away from people in a fortnight and the phone starts. This is when a year-long maintenance customer is won or lost, so the site leads with the round: how often you come, what a visit includes and whether you have space.
- First cuts and edging
- Scarifying and feeding
- Borders cleared and mulched
- Planting up pots and beds

The round, and the jobs booked around it
Most of the week is already committed, so the site stops selling and starts qualifying: the areas you cover, how long the waiting list is, and the one-off work you can still fit in between regular visits.
- Fortnightly cuts
- Hedges once nesting is over
- Weeding and watering
- Holiday cover

Leaves, last cuts and the big tidy
The busiest enquiry season of the year and the least loyal. People who have never had a gardener want the leaves gone before Christmas, and the ones who ring first get the work. Speed of reply matters more than anything on the page.
- Leaf clearance
- Final cuts and edges
- Hedges cut back hard
- Bulbs and bare-root planting

Structure, clearances and next year's round
The quiet months are when the profitable work hides: full clearances, pruning, fencing repairs and the renovations people plan while the garden is bare. The site spends winter selling the jobs nobody thinks to search for.
- Overgrown garden clearances
- Winter pruning
- Fence and gate repairs
- Turfing and border reshaping
You tell us which months are busy and which are quiet. We change what leads the site as the year turns, as a small change under fair use.
What we build
A gardener's website, designed around the round and the rescue.
Fernhill Garden Care is the example we build to: a fictional west Surrey maintenance business, shown on a laptop and on the phone most of its customers will actually use.
- Custom-designed for gardeningThe round and the one-off jobs are two different sales, so they get two different pages. The structure follows how gardeners are chosen, not a template.
- Your gardens, in pairsBefore-and-after pairs from the same corner, grouped by the kind of job, instead of a wall of tidy lawns that looks like everyone else's.
- Villages, not a countyEvery town and village on the round written out, so a search from somebody's own road has somewhere to land.
- A form that asks for a photo and a postcodeWhat they want doing, where, and what it looks like now, arriving as one message you can price from the van.
- A front page that turns with the yearLawns in spring, leaves in autumn, clearances in winter. We change what leads as the season changes, under fair use.
See what every Website includes
Fernhill Garden Care is an example business, designed to show the standard we build to, which is why it names Godalming and Cranleigh rather than your villages. Not a named customer. Web design in Surrey has a page of its own.
The proof
Two photographs from the same corner sell more than twenty finished borders.
The single most persuasive thing you own is a photograph of a garden that was a mess and now is not. It answers the price question before it is asked, because the customer can see what the money bought.
Overgrown and neglected
Back under control
Tired and patchy
Laid and levelledPhotographs here are illustrative and get replaced by your own pairs. You send them through your Client Platform as you finish jobs.
What you take on
The round and the one-offs are two different sales.
A maintenance customer is a decision about trusting somebody with a key and a gate code for years. A clearance is a decision about one bad afternoon. They deserve separate pages, because the person searching for each is worried about completely different things.
The round: the same gardens on the same days, priced by the visit and booked for the season rather than the job.
Grass, edges and paths
Cut, edged, clippings taken or composted, and the paths blown down before you leave. The visit people judge you on.
Borders and beds
Weeding, deadheading, cutting back and mulching, so a border still looks deliberate in August.
Hedges on the round
Kept to shape through the year, with the hard cuts timed for when it is legal and sensible to do them.
Fortnightly, monthly or seasonal
How often you come, stated on the page, so nobody rings expecting weekly when you do not offer it.
The work that arrives by search: somebody with a problem, a deadline, and usually a landlord, a sale or a visit coming.
Overgrown garden clearance
Waist-high grass, brambles and years of it. Priced by the day, with green waste removal made clear up front.
Autumn leaf clearance
The seasonal rush. A page that is already live in September catches enquiries the week the leaves drop.
End of tenancy tidy
Letting agents and landlords with a date. Fast, documented with photographs, invoiced to the agency.
Turfing and lawn renovation
Scarifying, levelling, seeding or fresh turf, with the aftercare the customer has to do written down.
The jobs that pay for the quiet months, and the ones customers do not realise you do.
Hedge reduction and removal
Overgrown leylandii and boundary hedges brought back, with the mess and the waste dealt with.
Fencing, gates and repairs
Panels, posts and gates replaced. Often the reason somebody first rings, and the way onto the round.
Planting and borders
New beds, shrubs and bulbs, with the plants specified so a customer knows what they are paying for.
Jet washing patios and paths
The quick visible win that sells the rest of the garden, and a natural add to a spring visit.
Anything you do not take on comes off the site. Nothing appears that sends you to a job you would rather not do.
Where you go
The round is geography before it is gardening.
A gardener twenty minutes the wrong way is a gardener losing an hour a week for a year. Customers know it too, which is why so many searches end in a place name. Your site says exactly where you go, so the enquiries that arrive are ones you can actually service.
- Villages, not a county
"West Surrey" is not what anybody types. Naming Godalming, Cranleigh and Wonersh is what puts you in front of somebody searching from their own road.
- The round has a shape
Gardens two junctions the wrong way cost you an hour every visit for a year. Saying where you go stops the forty-minute enquiry you were never going to take.
- Room to grow into
Places you would take work in, listed separately from the ones you are already on. As the round fills, we move them across.
- Guildford
- Godalming
- Woking
- Cranleigh
- Farnham
- Haslemere
- Ripley
- Shalford
- Bramley
- Chilworth
- Wonersh
- Send
Villages listed the way customers say them, not as a county.
Managed, not handed over
You keep the gardens. We keep the website.
The monthly figure is not for a website file. It is for a website that stays built, hosted, secure, current and looked after, for as long as you are with us.
You never have to
- Learn WordPress, or ever log into it
- Buy hosting, a domain name or an SSL certificate
- Run updates, or restore a backup after something breaks
- Work out why the enquiry form stopped arriving
- Resize and upload photographs from the van
- Find a designer when the season changes or a village is added
PrimeStart does
- Design and build the website around your gardening business
- Host it, with your domain name and SSL included
- Keep it secure, backed up and updated every month
- Keep the enquiry form reaching you, photographs and all
- Build and test it for phones first, because that is where gardens are chosen
- Make reasonable small changes when you ask, such as a new pair of photographs, a new village or a seasonal front page, subject to fair use
Phone first, properly
Chosen on a phone, in the garden, looking at the problem.
Most gardening enquiries start on a mobile, often from the back step with the garden in view. The site is designed for that screen first, and the laptop version is laid out afterwards.
- Your best pair is the first thing they see
One before-and-after, full width, before a word of copy. It answers the question that matters most in the time a thumb takes to scroll.
- Villages before anything else
The opening line says where the round goes, so the wrong village leaves and the right one keeps reading.
- A form built for the back step
A postcode, what they want doing and a photograph from the camera roll. It arrives as one message you can price without a visit.
- Quick on a garden signal
Photographs are compressed and loaded as needed, so pages open on mobile data at the bottom of a long garden.
Website + SEO
Three searches, chosen for the work you actually want more of.
Website + SEO is ongoing monthly work on how easily local customers find you, aimed at three searches agreed with you, with the website included rather than charged on top. For a gardener the interesting part is that the three searches decide the shape of your year, not just the size of it.
- £349.99/monthTotal. The website is included: the £49.99 Website is not added on top.
- 3 searchesAgreed with you at the start. Additional agreed search targets are £50/month each.
- Monthly workSearch and competitor research, website improvements, Google Business Profile work, local listings, technical monitoring and a clear monthly report in your Client Platform.
- 6-month minimumAfter the SEO minimum you can continue, or stop the SEO work and keep the Website for the rest of its 18-month term. Every month of it counts towards both.
Nobody can promise a position on Google or a number of enquiries, and we do not. What we commit to is the agreed work every month, a report of exactly what was done, and changing course when the evidence says to.
- 01“gardener near me Guildford”
The round. Somebody looking for a regular gardener, usually in spring, usually comparing three. This is the search that fills the diary for a year rather than an afternoon.
- 02“garden clearance Guildford”
The rescue. Higher value per job, booked fast, and often a landlord or somebody selling. These arrive all year and convert quickly because the customer has a deadline.
- 03“hedge cutting Guildford”
The seasonal spike. Twice a year this outranks everything else, and it is the job most likely to turn a one-off customer into a name on the round.
We research your area first, recommend three that make commercial sense, explain why, and agree them with you before any work starts. Each month the work is research, page improvements, your Google Business Profile, local listings and a report of what was done. Additional agreed searches are +£50 a month each.
Already have a website you are happy with? Ongoing SEO is only available with the managed website, as Website + SEO — PrimeStart does not run SEO on a site it does not host. If you would rather keep your current site, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether moving it across is worth it.
Your Client Platform
Send a before-and-after from the van, before you have taken your boots off.
Every PrimeStart customer gets their own Client Platform from the day they sign up. It is where the project happens while the site is being built, and where you send us the next pair of photographs once it is live.
- Follow the build stage by stage, without emailing to ask
- Send photographs straight from your phone at the end of a job
- Message PrimeStart directly, with the whole thread in one place
- Preview the draft on a phone and a laptop, and ask for changes page by page
- Approve the website before it goes live
- See your plan and payments, and ask for changes or support after launch
- See your SEO report, tracked searches and recommendations each month (Website + SEO)
There is nothing technical to learn and no WordPress to open. One login, and the rest is us.
Need something extra later? No problem. PrimeStart customers can order additional services such as extra pages, branding and one-off optimisation through their client dashboard whenever they need them.

You review the draft and request reasonable in-scope changes. If there’s a genuine problem we can’t put right within scope after reasonable attempts, we can cancel the agreement and refund Website subscription payments made, subject to any disclosed non-recoverable third-party costs.
