Mill Hill's name was first recorded as 'Myllehill' in 1547, apparently meaning 'hill with a windmill', and the area remained part of Middlesex until 1965. Mill Hill Broadway, formerly Lawrence Street, became the district's retail centre after the Midland Railway arrived in 1868, and it is where most of the area's shops and cafes trade today. A short distance away, Mill Hill East has its own separate retail centre at Kelly's Corner, officially Holders Hill Circus, served by its own Northern line station. In between, Mill Hill School is where James Murray began work on the first Oxford English Dictionary in 1879, building a scriptorium in the school grounds. A customer searching 'Mill Hill' has no way of knowing which parade a business means until the site tells them. We design, build, host and manage a site that names the actual one for £49.99 a month, and we can work on your Google visibility once it is live.

Mill Hill
Mill Hill Broadway and Mill Hill East's Kelly's Corner: one name, two separate trading centres.
Mill Hill's name appears in records as early as 1547, as 'Myllehill', meaning hill with a windmill, and the area stayed part of Middlesex until it joined Greater London in 1965. The Midland Railway station arrived in 1868, and Mill Hill Broadway, previously called Lawrence Street, developed as the district's retail centre from the 1890s onward, carrying the shops and cafes most people picture when they think of Mill Hill. Inglis Barracks, home to the Middlesex Regiment from 1905 to 1966, sat close by, and the railway station itself reopened in 1941 under wartime conditions.
Mill Hill School, meanwhile, is where the lexicographer James Murray began work on the first Oxford English Dictionary in 1879 while teaching there, building a scriptorium on the school grounds to house quotation slips and editorial staff - a piece of the district's history that has nothing to do with its shops. A mile or so away, Mill Hill East is served by its own Northern line station and has its own separate retail centre at Kelly's Corner, officially Holders Hill Circus, where a Jehovah's Witnesses building now stands on the site of the former Carl Zeiss optical works.
Broadway and Kelly's Corner are two genuinely different parades with two different stations, not two names for the same place. A business that only says 'Mill Hill' leaves a customer guessing which one to head for, and a website that names the actual centre, and the walk from the right station, converts far better than the shared name alone.

A search for "Mill Hill" doesn't say whether you mean Broadway or Kelly's Corner.
"Shop mill hill broadway", "dentist kelly's corner", "accountant nw7": each of these needs a result that names the actual parade. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.

- 01“shop Mill Hill Broadway”
Made by someone who specifically means the Broadway parade near the mainline station, not Kelly's Corner a mile away.
- 02“dentist Kelly's Corner”
Searched by someone at Mill Hill East who wants a result actually near their own station, not one closer to Broadway.
- 03“accountant NW7”
A postcode-wide search that returns results across both centres unless the site states which one it's actually in.
Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people across Mill Hill actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.
Mill Hill industries
Two centres, and every trade here needs to say which one it's in.
A dentist on the Broadway and an accountant at Kelly's Corner are both searched for under 'Mill Hill', and both lose custom to a result meant for the other parade.
