Web design in Anerley

Anerley Road has traded since the railway arrived in 1839. A website here has to hold its own on a proper high street.

Anerley grew up around William Sanderson's house "Anerly", built after the 1827 enclosure of Penge Common, and took its shape once Anerley station opened in 1839. Anerley Road is still the area's working parade today — rebuilt once already, after eighteen shops were destroyed there in a 1944 V-1 strike — a short walk from Crystal Palace, Penge and Upper Norwood. We build the website that names Anerley Road properly, for £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee, and we can work on your search visibility too.

Why a website

Anerley Road has rebuilt itself before. A website that looks properly established fits a street with that history.

Anerley Road lost eighteen shops to a V-1 strike in July 1944 and traded on regardless. A business here is on a road with a real, working history — a site should say that, not read like a generic "south London" listing.

01

They check an Anerley website looks properly established

A proper website with your name, your road and your work says you're a settled trader on Anerley Road, not a name that could be anywhere in south London.

02

They want to know you actually cover Anerley, not just Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace draws more search attention than Anerley itself. Saying plainly that you trade on Anerley Road, or cover it alongside Penge and Crystal Palace, saves a wasted enquiry either way.

03

They want to see the finished work

Photographs of jobs finished on streets they recognise — Anerley Road, Anerley Park, the streets near the station — do more to win trust than a general claim to cover south London.

04

They want an easy way to get in touch

An enquiry form that reaches your phone catches the evening decision — someone comparing a couple of local traders after work.

Anerley

A house called "Anerly" gave its name to a road, then a railway station gave the road its trade.

Anerley's name comes from a single Victorian house, but the area's shape and trade were set by the railway that arrived a dozen years later, and the road has kept working through the changes since.

Penge Common is enclosed

Following the enclosure, Scottish merchant William Sanderson buys land and builds a house he names "Anerly" — a Scots word for solitary or remote — giving the area its future name.

1839

Anerley station opens

The station opens as "Annerley Bridge Station" on the railway line running toward Croydon, and the road and area around it begin to develop in earnest.

Anerley Gardens

A Victorian pleasure garden with a boating lake, a maze and a Swiss cottage opens in 1841, then closes in 1868, unable to compete once the Crystal Palace relocated to nearby Sydenham in 1854.

Anerley Town Hall is built

Built for £4,341, the town hall remains a landmark on Anerley Road today.

1944

Anerley Road is bombed and rebuilds

A V-1 flying bomb destroys eighteen shops along Anerley Road in July 1944; the road trades on and rebuilds in the years after.

What that means for a business here today

A real working high street.

Anerley Road has been the area's trading spine since the 1830s and has rebuilt itself more than once — a business here is on a street with genuine continuity, not a passing parade.

Next door to a bigger name.

Crystal Palace draws more search traffic than Anerley on its own. Being clear about which one you actually trade in, or both, matters for who finds you.

Well connected, still local.

Anerley station now sits on the London Overground's Windrush line, keeping the area connected into London and Croydon while it stays a genuinely local trading street.

Getting found locally

An Anerley Road search and a Crystal Palace search are not the same search.

"Electrician anerley", "hair salon se20", "cafe anerley road" — each names a road with its own identity, even with Crystal Palace right next door. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of making sure the right search finds you. See Bromley Council's own page on The Anerley Business Centre.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, "electrician anerley", "hair salon se20" and "cafe anerley road" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current so you appear on the map for Anerley, with your hours, your work and a way to reach you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask satisfied customers for a Google review once a job is done — read closely by someone comparing traders on Anerley Road.
  • Pages for the area you actually trade in. Anerley Road itself, or Anerley alongside Penge and Crystal Palace — written properly, not one page listing the whole of SE20.
  • A monthly report you can read. A straightforward account each month of what changed and what's next, in your Client Platform.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found locally — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

A trader on Anerley Road needs a site that reads as established. Web design in Anerley has to earn that.

Anerley Road has been a working high street since the 1830s, rebuilt more than once, and a business trading there deserves a site that reflects that continuity rather than a generic template with the postcode swapped in.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in. Built with the same steadiness as a road that's kept trading through the Victorian era, two world wars and Crystal Palace next door.

“Anerley Road has traded since the railway arrived. A website here should look like it belongs on that road, not like it could be anywhere.”

Request a call
Do you work with businesses based in Anerley?
Yes, across Anerley Road, Anerley Hill and the wider SE20 postcode, including businesses that also serve Penge, Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
We're on Anerley Road. Does the website need to say that specifically?
Yes, if that's genuinely where you trade. Anerley Road is the area's working high street and a search naming it is usually someone comparing named shops and traders along it, not just "Anerley" generally.
How much does a website cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
Crystal Palace gets more search attention than Anerley. Should the site just say "Crystal Palace"?
Only if that's honestly where you trade or want to be found. If your shop or workshop is on Anerley Road, saying so plainly is worth more than borrowing a bigger neighbour's name — and we can mention both areas honestly if you genuinely cover them.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
