Cockfosters

The 1933 Piccadilly line terminus and Trent Country Park, with no sourced high street between them.

The name Cockfosters is recorded as far back as 1524, possibly deriving from the residence of the 'cock forester', the chief forester of what was then Enfield Chase. Beech Hill Park and Trent Place were built on former Chase land after its enclosure in 1777, and a village had developed along Cockfosters Road by 1867. The Piccadilly line reached Cockfosters as its northern terminus in July 1933, bringing a housebuilding boom, and Trent Country Park, around 320 hectares including the Go Ape treetop course, was the site of Trent Park College of Education from 1947 until 2012.

None of that adds up to a shopping parade. Research finds no dedicated high street or market around the Cockfosters terminus or Trent Country Park, which means the businesses actually trading from this ground, decorators, personal trainers, tutors, dog walkers, are working from homes and small premises around the station and the park rather than a row of shopfronts a customer might simply walk past.

That makes the website the only shopfront EN4's Cockfosters end has ever had. A customer searching for a service near Trent Country Park is choosing between search results, not window displays, so a site that names the station, the postcode and the actual work done precisely is what converts that search into an enquiry.

Cockfosters industries

Home-based trades and services decide the shape of this site, not a high street Cockfosters doesn't have.

A gardener and a personal trainer both working near the Cockfosters terminus need different websites, but neither is helped by a page that invents a parade research never found around Trent Country Park.

Nobody walks past your shop near the Cockfosters terminus, because there isn't one. They search instead.

“Gardener cockfosters”, “personal trainer en4”, “dog walker near me”: every one of these is decided entirely by what a site says, since there's no parade for a customer to stumble on instead. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.

  1. 01
    “gardener Cockfosters

Searched by someone near the Cockfosters terminus who has no local parade to compare businesses on, so a plainly stated EN4 address is what earns the click.

  2. 02
    “personal trainer EN4

Typed by someone near Trent Country Park who wants a trainer who actually covers this end of the postcode, not a name from further into Enfield.

  3. 03
    “dog walker near me

Made by someone living near Trent Country Park who wants a service that plainly works this ground rather than one written for the whole borough.

Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what customers in Cockfosters actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Eighteen months, then the website is yours.

The Piccadilly line has run to this terminus since 1933, and Trent Country Park has drawn visitors for as long. A website that only ever rents itself back to you monthly doesn't match that kind of staying power. Complete the minimum term here and it belongs to you, whether you stay with PrimeStart or not.

  1. Month 1 We design and build it

Moving the website elsewhere is subject to the third-party licences any website relies on, such as WordPress, plugins, fonts and stock photography. The full wording lives in the Website Subscription Terms.
