Web design across Enfield

Enfield changes character between the Piccadilly line suburbs and the A10, and web design in Enfield has to know which side you trade on.

PrimeStart designs, hosts and looks after websites for tradespeople and small businesses across Enfield — Southgate, Cockfosters, Palmers Green, Enfield Town, Edmonton and Winchmore Hill. The modern borough was formed on 1 April 1965 from the older boroughs of Enfield, Edmonton and Southgate, and it still runs as two different places either side of the North Circular. Built to name your actual patch of the borough, from £99.99 a month with £0 upfront design fee.

Why a website

Enfield was three separate boroughs until 1965. A lot of Enfield web design still talks about one place that isn't quite there.

Southgate, Cockfosters and the western suburbs grew up along the Piccadilly line's 1933 extension to Cockfosters and stayed residential. Enfield Town and Edmonton, on the A10, carry the borough's retail and industrial weight. A website that says which of those two Enfields it actually serves gets read properly; one that just says "Enfield" leaves the customer to guess.

01

They check which Enfield you actually work in

Southgate and Edmonton are on opposite sides of the North Circular. Saying plainly which part of the borough you cover saves everyone a wasted enquiry.

02

They want to see the finished work

Photographs of jobs finished on streets they recognise do more to win trust than a general claim to cover the whole borough.

03

They want to know you're established

A proper website with your name, your area and your work says you're a serious business, not a name in a directory listing.

04

They want an easy way to get in touch

An enquiry form that reaches your phone catches the evening decision — someone comparing a few businesses after work, wherever in Enfield they're based.

Enfield

Three boroughs merged into one in 1965 — and the join still shows.

The London Government Act 1963 created the modern London Borough of Enfield on 1 April 1965, merging the old municipal boroughs of Enfield, Edmonton and Southgate. Nearly sixty years on, the borough still runs as two different economies either side of the North Circular.

The Piccadilly line reaches Cockfosters

The line's extension establishes Southgate, Oakwood, Cockfosters and the western suburbs as commuter territory, setting the residential character that Southgate, Palmers Green and Arnos Grove still carry.

The modern borough is created

The London Government Act 1963 merges the former boroughs of Enfield, Edmonton and Southgate into the single London Borough of Enfield on 1 April.

The world's first cash machine opens on Enfield Town's high street

A Barclays Bank branch installs the first automated teller machine anywhere in the world, in June 1967, now marked with an English Heritage blue plaque — a small sign of how much genuine commercial activity has run through the borough.

Edmonton Green regeneration begins

A long-running programme of housing, health facilities and a rebuilt shopping centre starts at Edmonton Green, and is still ongoing.

PalaceXchange redevelops Enfield Town centre

A major town-centre redevelopment adds retail space and multi-storey parking, reshaping Enfield Town's commercial core.

What that means for you, trading here today

Two Enfields, one borough.

Southgate, Cockfosters, Palmers Green and Arnos Grove are largely residential and Piccadilly-line led. Enfield Town and Edmonton carry the A10's retail and industrial weight. A site has to say which one it belongs to.

Genuine commercial history.

The Royal Small Arms Factory, early Ferguson televisions, an early Hotpoint dishwasher and the world's first cash machine were all made or installed here — a borough with more industrial depth than its suburbs suggest.

Two town centres still changing.

Enfield Town's PalaceXchange redevelopment and Edmonton Green's continuing regeneration mean both commercial cores are still being worked on, not finished.

Getting found locally

A Southgate search and an Edmonton search are rarely the same customer.

"Estate agent southgate", "electrician enfield town", "gardener cockfosters" — the same borough behaves like different markets either side of the North Circular. Website + SEO is the ongoing work of putting your business in front of those searches.

  • Local searches, agreed with you. We pick the three searches that matter most to your business — say, "estate agent southgate", "electrician enfield town" and "gardener cockfosters" — and work on them every month.
  • Google Business Profile. Set up and kept current, so you appear on the map for the part of Enfield you actually cover, with your hours, photos and a way to call you.
  • Reviews from genuine customers. A simple way to ask happy customers for a Google review after the job.
  • A page per district you serve. Southgate, Enfield Town, Edmonton, Cockfosters — each written properly, not one page claiming the whole borough at once.
  • A monthly report you can read. How each district you've targeted moved that month, set out in your Client Platform.

We never promise rankings or a number of customers. We do promise consistent, honest work on being found locally — and to show you exactly what we did.

Built for you

An estate agent near Southgate station and an electrician on the A10 need very different websites.

Enfield's split between the residential west and the retail-and-industrial east means two businesses in the same borough can have almost nothing in common. A template can't tell the difference. We can.

Every PrimeStart website is designed from scratch and custom coded on WordPress in HTML and PHP — no page builders, no theme bought off a shelf with your name typed in.

“The Southgate agent needs clear listings and fast valuations. The Edmonton electrician needs a portfolio built for callouts. Same borough, completely different website.”

  • 1

Pages for the parts of Enfield you serve

Southgate, Enfield Town, Edmonton, Cockfosters — each written for how people there search, not one page for the whole borough.

  • 2

    Your services, structured for search

Each service on its own page, described the way people across Enfield look for it.

  • 3

Your reviews, where people look for them

Genuine Google reviews shown on the site, because Enfield covers two very different markets and reviews are what tell them apart.

  • 4

An enquiry form that asks the right questions

Area, the job, photos and timing — so you can rule out the far end of the borough before you pick up the phone.

Which parts of Enfield do you cover?
All of it: Enfield Town, Edmonton, Southgate, Palmers Green, Cockfosters, Winchmore Hill, Arnos Grove and out towards Enfield Chase, including small places like Botany Bay. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
We work in Southgate and Edmonton. Do we need a page for each?
If the work differs between them, yes. People search by the place they live in, so a page that names Arnos Grove's streets and another that names Edmonton's does more than one page listing both. Extra area pages can be ordered through your Client Platform when you need them.
Does Enfield have Business Improvement Districts like some other boroughs?
We haven't found a Business Improvement District covering Enfield Town, Southgate or Edmonton, unlike some inner-London boroughs, so we won't claim one. What Enfield has instead is two council-led regeneration programmes — PalaceXchange in Enfield Town and the ongoing work at Edmonton Green — which is a different kind of commercial activity, and just as good a reason to have a proper website.
How much does a website cost with PrimeStart?
Website is £99.99 a month for 12 months with no upfront design fee, or £899.91 paid upfront for the year (save 25%). Website + SEO is £349.99 a month in total, or £3,149.91 paid upfront for 12 months of Website and SEO. For new agreements, after the first 12 months the website continues automatically at £49.99 a month for hosting and aftercare, with no new minimum term, unless you give 30 days' notice; Website + SEO continues at £299.99 a month while SEO is still running. Existing customers keep the pricing in their own agreement.
Do I own the website?
Yes. On the monthly plan the site is yours after the agreed 12-month term, subject to the contract. If you pay upfront you can choose an early handover once the site is complete and approved, or keep it managed with us.
We're out near Enfield Chase, not in a town centre at all. Is a website still worth it?
Often, yes, but the site should be honest about scale rather than pretend to be a shopfront business. Tell us honestly what you do and how far you travel for work, and we'll say plainly whether Website + SEO adds anything yet or whether Website on its own does the job.
How long until my site is live?
Once we have your details and photos we design your site, show it to you, make your amendments and go live only when you've approved it. You'll see the first design before anything is public.
