Two names for one crossroads, and customers use whichever they learned first.

"South chingford" and "chingford mount" return different results for the same shops. Ongoing SEO is monthly work on three agreed searches like these.

An illustration of the kind of local results SEO works towards. The businesses, ratings and positions shown are examples, not a ranking or a result for any particular business.

  1. 01
    “hairdresser chingford mount

The name on the shops, the road and the cemetery, and the one most customers say, even though it is not what the postal address calls this place.

  2. 02
    “garage south chingford

The address name, used by anyone working from paperwork or a postcode lookup rather than from what the shopfronts around the crossroads say.

  3. 03
    “takeaway e4

A postcode search covering both halves of Chingford at once, so the site has to make clear it means the crossroads rather than Station Road.

Examples only. The three searches are agreed with you around the work you want more of and what people around the crossroads actually type. Nobody can promise a position, and we don't.

Two ways to start at the Chingford Mount crossroads.

A professional website, or that website with ongoing SEO from the start. Both carry the address name and the trading name, because customers use them interchangeably.

South Chingford industries

Crossroads retail and services, filed under two different names.

A salon and a garage at the Chingford Mount crossroads have nothing else in common, but both are searched for under one name and registered under another, and both lose custom to the gap.

South Chingford

One place, two names, and no station to decide between them.

The commercial centre here is a crossroads. Many of the buildings at the Chingford Mount shopping centre were erected in the 1930s to Art Deco designs, and the sequence that produced them is documented: the tramway was extended to Albert Corner in 1904, after which shops began appearing, and by 1923 a section of Chingford Road had been renamed Chingford Mount Road. The Chingford Odeon, an original Oscar Deutsch building designed by Andrew Mather, opened in September 1935 and was demolished in 1972.

The other fixed points are close by. Chingford Mount Cemetery opened in May 1884 and covers 41 and a half acres. St Edmund's Parish Church was built in 1939 to a design by N. F. Cachemaille-Day and is Grade II listed. Until the 1850s this was farmland, and the Prince Albert Inn was built at the crossroads in the second half of the nineteenth century.

The naming problem is unusually clean. South Chingford is the address; Chingford Mount is what the shops, the road and the cemetery are called and what customers say out loud. There is no station of its own to act as a tiebreaker - the nearest National Rail station is Chingford, in the northern half of E4 - so a search may use either name and a directory may file the business under either. Using both, deliberately and in the right places, is the whole job here.

Eighteen months, then the website is yours.

The Art Deco shopfronts at the Chingford Mount crossroads have stood since the 1930s and the cemetery since May 1884. Complete the minimum term here and the website belongs to you outright, carrying both names.

View all FAQs · All locations

Do you build websites for businesses in South Chingford?
Yes, for the shops, salons, garages and services around the Chingford Mount crossroads and along Chingford Mount Road. Everything is designed, built and managed remotely, so there is no office to visit.
Should our site say South Chingford or Chingford Mount?
Both, in different places. Chingford Mount is what customers say and what the road, the shops and the cemetery are named, so it belongs in the visible copy. South Chingford is the address name and belongs where the address is stated. Choosing only one loses the searches that use the other.
There is no station here. Does that hurt us?
It removes the usual tiebreaker. With no South Chingford or Chingford Mount station, nothing official settles which name is right, so the site has to do it. We name the crossroads, Chingford Mount Road and Albert Corner, and say the nearest National Rail station is Chingford.
We already have a website we like. Can you just do the SEO?
No. SEO is not sold on its own any more — it is only available as part of Website + SEO, £349.99 a month in total, and that means building you a new PrimeStart website rather than adding search work onto the one you have now. A business at the Chingford Mount crossroads would be starting from the same place as everyone else here: a new site built around the trade, with the SEO work running from day one rather than retrofitted onto what already exists. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
What does a South Chingford business website cost?
Website is £49.99 a month with a £0 upfront design fee, and it costs the same in E4 as anywhere else. The first £49.99 is taken at signup, and there is an 18-month minimum term, £899.82 in total. Once that term is complete, the website is yours.
How does ongoing SEO work?
Website + SEO is £349.99 a month total, with the website included rather than charged on top. Each month we work on three agreed local searches, for example "hairdresser chingford mount" or "garage south chingford", alongside your Google Business Profile and the website itself. Nobody can promise rankings, and we don't.
Is this the same as the Chingford page?
No. The Chingford page is written about Station Road, Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, All Saints on Old Church Road and Pole Hill, in the northern half of E4. This page is written about the Art Deco crossroads, Chingford Mount Road, the 1884 cemetery and St Edmund's.
